Pursuant to Municipal Ordinance No. 035-2023, the Municipality of Buenavista celebrates Municipal Arbor Day every last Friday of June as part of its continuing commitment to environmental protection, reforestation, and climate resilience.

This yearโ€™s Municipal Arbor Day Celebration was successfully held on June 26, 2026, at Purok 6, Barangay Macalang, Buenavista, Agusan del Norte, where over 1,000 seedlings consisting of Narra, Mahogany, Alim, and Bakan were planted by more than 200 participants.

The activity was actively participated in by LGU Buenavista employees, representatives from the 25 barangays, Philippine National Police, Bureau of Fire Protection, Philippine Coast Guard, national line agencies, solo parents, and other stakeholders who joined hands in support of a greener and more sustainable Buenavista.

A Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was also signed between the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO), represented by MENRO-Designate Rhea B. Luangco, EnP, and the Barangay Council of Macalang, represented by Punong Barangay Shirley M. Edoc, to strengthen the partnership in ensuring the protection, maintenance, and sustainability of the planted seedlings.

Through this collective effort, the Municipality of Buenavista continues to promote environmental stewardship and community participation toward a cleaner, greener, and more resilient future.
