🐾 STAKEHOLDERS’ MEETING: REVISITING MUNICIPAL ORDINANCE NO. 19-2017 🐾

The Municipal Agriculture Office (MAO) of Buenavista conducted a Stakeholders’ Meeting focused on the revisiting of Municipal Ordinance No. 19-2017, “Dog Control and Rabies Ordinance of the Municipality of Buenavista.”

The activity was facilitated by Dr. Lifeiz Grace Aguto, Municipal Veterinarian, and was attended by the Barangay Captains and representatives from all 25 barangays of Buenavista.

The meeting provided an opportunity to revisit the provisions of the ordinance, discuss its implementation, and strengthen coordination between the Municipal Government and the barangays in addressing concerns related to responsible pet ownership, dog control, rabies prevention, and public safety.

Through continued collaboration and strengthened implementation at the barangay level, the Municipality of Buenavista remains committed to protecting both people and animals and promoting a rabies-free and responsible pet-owning community. 🐶🐾

BUTUAN BAY DEVELOPMENT ALLIANCE CONDUCTS SPECIAL TECHNICAL WORKING GROUP MEETING IN BUENAVISTA

The Butuan Bay Development Alliance (BBDA) conducted a Special Technical Working Group (TWG) Meeting focused on the crafting of the proposed Butuan Bay Development Authority Bill.

The meeting was held at the Farmers and Fisherfolk Training Center, Buenavista, Agusan del Norte, bringing together concerned stakeholders and technical representatives to discuss, refine, and strengthen the proposed legislation aimed at promoting the sustainable, coordinated, and inclusive development and management of Butuan Bay.

The activity highlights the importance of collaboration among local government units, government agencies, and other stakeholders in developing policies that will support the protection of the bay, strengthen fisheries and other coastal livelihoods, and promote sustainable economic development for communities surrounding Butuan Bay.

Working together today for a sustainable and prosperous Butuan Bay tomorrow. 🌊🤝

🐾 REVISIT OF THE MUNICIPAL DOG ORDINANCE & IEC ON IUU FISHING 🐟

The Municipal Agriculture Office (MAO) of Buenavista, in collaboration with BFAR-Caraga, conducted a revisit and information, education, and communication (IEC) activity on the Municipality’s Dog Ordinance and Illegal, Unreported, and Unregulated (IUU) Fishing on July 30, 2026, at the Buenavista Municipal Public Market.

The activity aimed to inform and educate market vendors and the general public about the existing municipal ordinances, their importance, and the responsibilities of everyone in ensuring their proper implementation and compliance.

Through this initiative, the LGU Buenavista and BFAR-Caraga continue to strengthen public awareness and encourage the cooperation of our market vendors and constituents in promoting responsible pet ownership, public safety, and sustainable fisheries management.

🤝 Ordinances are effective when the community understands, supports, and helps implement them.

🌱 Empowering Communities Through Sustainable Gardening 🌿

The Municipal Agriculture Office of Buenavista, through the support of the Agricultural Training Institute – Regional Training Center XIII (ATI Caraga), successfully conducted a Technical Briefing on Vegetable Production and Sustainable Community Gardening for the Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS) of Buenavista.

The activity aimed to equip the participants with practical knowledge and skills in vegetable production and the establishment of sustainable community gardens, empowering them to promote household food production, improve nutrition, and strengthen food security in their respective barangays.

Together, we cultivate healthier families and more resilient communities—one garden at a time. 🌿🥬🥕
