Earlier today, Mayor Julius Amos personally visited our Semana Santa 2026 Motorist Assistance Center at Peopleโ€™s Park Abatan, Buguias, checking on operations and ensuring assistance services are fully ready for the public.

He also made a stop at the DPWH 2nd District Motorist Assistance Center in Natubleng, Buguias, showing continued support for the teams working on the ground to keep travelers safe and assisted this Holy Week.

Day 4 of the 1st Buguias Carrot Festival began with energy and enthusiasm as the community gathered for the ๐—™๐˜‚๐—ป ๐—ฅ๐˜‚๐—ป ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ ๐—ญ๐˜‚๐—บ๐—ฏ๐—ฎ ๐——๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฐ๐—ฒ ๐—–๐—ผ๐—บ๐—ฝ๐—ฒ๐˜๐—ถ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป.

The Fun Run brought together residents, municipal officials, and community leaders in a lively show of unity and fitness. Mayor Julius Amos actively joined the run and proudly finished the course, inspiring participants with his enthusiasm. He was joined by Councilor Manuel Yans and Councilor Jose โ€œBobotโ€ Bayas Jr., along with municipal department heads and the barangay captains of Buguias. Also present during the event were Vice Mayor Ronald Kimakim, Councilor Wilnard Tolida, and Councilor Vicente Kitongan, showing their support for the activity and the participants.

Following the Fun Run, the excitement continued with the Zumba Dance Competition, where participants showcased their energy, creativity, and teamwork. Adding more fun to the event, several barangay captains also joined the dance, bringing laughter and excitement to the crowd.

Day 3 of the 1st Buguias Carrot Festival continued with activities that highlighted both community service and the dedication of our emergency responders.

At the Loo Grandstand in Buguias, the Rescue Olympics brought together responders who showcased their skills, teamwork, and readiness in handling emergency situations. The activity demonstrated the importance of preparedness, coordination, and quick response in ensuring the safety and well-being of the community. Vice Mayor Ronald Kimakim delivered a message during the program, along with MDRRMO Satur Payangdo, who emphasized the vital role of disaster preparedness and response in the municipality. The program concluded with the closing remarks of Councilor Jose โ€œBobotโ€ Bayas Jr.

Meanwhile, several service booths were made available to the public at the BSU Closed Gym of Benguet State University โ€“ Buguias Campus. These included Project ISEM, the Distribution of Glasses, the booth of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines Baguio-Benguet Chapter, and the Philippine Red Cross Booth. Councilor Wilnard Tolida was also present to show support for the services provided to the community.

Adding energy to both the Rescue Olympics and the service booths was Jereed Lou Waclin Tido, the 2025 Mr. Cordillera, who entertained the crowd and helped bring more excitement to the dayโ€™s activities. These initiatives made the third day of the festival not only a celebration, but also an opportunity to extend meaningful services and engagement to the people of Buguias.

Another heartwarming highlight of Day 3 of the 1st Buguias Carrot Festival was the Mass Wedding, held at the Socio-Cultural Multipurpose Building in Buguias.

Couples from the municipality gathered to officially unite in marriage in a meaningful ceremony officiated by Mayor Julius Amos. The occasion was witnessed by families, friends, and members of the community who came together to celebrate this special milestone in the couplesโ€™ lives. Vice Mayor Ronald Kimakim was also present and delivered the Opening Remarks, warmly welcoming the couples and attendees. Municipal Civil Registrar Crisostomo Batonan gave a heartfelt message to the couples, offering guidance and encouragement as they began this new chapter in their lives.

Also present during the ceremony were Registration Officer Cristeta E. Ngolob from the Regional Office of the Philippine Statistics Authority โ€“ Cordillera Administrative Region, and Imelda L. Buyuccan, Chief Statistical Specialist of the Provincial Office of the Philippine Statistics Authority Benguet.

The Mass Wedding served as a beautiful reminder that beyond the festivities, the Carrot Festival also celebrates the values that bind the community together, love, unity, and new beginnings.

Day 1 of the 1st Buguias Carrot Festival officially kicked off with a joyful and meaningful Opening Ceremony and Ribbon Cutting, marking the start of this much-awaited celebration for our municipality.

The day began with a solemn Holy Mass officiated by Rev. Fr. Raymund Songyap, grounding the celebration in prayer and thanksgiving. Mayor Julius Amos then delivered his heartfelt Opening Remarks together with his State of the Municipality Address, sharing the milestones, accomplishments, and vision for the future of Buguias.

Provincial Director Daisy A. Payang of the Department of the Interior and Local Governmentโ€“Benguet witnessed the State of the Municipality Address and expressed her support for the municipality. Vice Governor Marie Rose T. Fongwan-Kepes, our Guest Speaker, also inspired everyone with her message of unity and continued progress. The ceremony formally concluded with the closing remarks from Vice Mayor Ronald Kimakim.

In the afternoon, the excitement carried on at the Municipal Social Hall with the Advocacy Pitch of the candidates for Mr. and Ms. Buguias. Each candidate confidently shared their advocacies and aspirations, giving everyone a glimpse of their passion and commitment to the community.

The Local Government Unit of Buguias successfully conducted its Local Health Board Meeting yesterday at the Municipal Social Hall, led by Mayor Julius Amos and Dra. Hilda Kimakim.
