Women supporting women, communities celebrating women. 💜🌸

In line with the 2026 National Women’s Month theme, “Lead Like Babaylans, Pilipinas,” the Local Government Unit of Bula, through the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO), successfully celebrated Women’s Month on March 9, 2026. The event highlighted the recognition of outstanding Local Juan and Juana from various barangays in honor of their meaningful contributions to the community and their role as leaders and changemakers.

The program also featured intermission numbers from different clusters, showcasing their talents and active participation in the celebration. In addition, the program acknowledged participating beauty establishments that extended 10% discounts from March 1–8 in accordance with Municipal Ordinance No. 2023-02-021 passed by the Sangguniang Bayan, demonstrating their solidarity and commitment to the promotion of women’s empowerment in the municipality.

Through this celebration, the LGU of Bula honors women who embody the spirit of the babaylan—strong, wise, and courageous leaders guiding communities toward progress.

The LGU expresses its sincere appreciation to all partners and stakeholders who supported this meaningful celebration of women’s strength, leadership, and invaluable role in community development. ✨💜

The Bula Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office, under the leadership of Hon. Amelita Ibasco, successfully celebrated Women’s Month 2025 with the theme:

“Babae sa Lahat ng Sektor, Aangat ang Bukas sa Bagong Pilipinas.”

With the participation of 33 barangays, the event fostered unity, empowerment, and inclusivity. The celebration includes the recognition of Local Juan and Juana. A lively on-the-spot Zumba session added energy to the celebration, making it a truly memorable occasion.

A Fun-filled Day for Daycare Children!

In celebration of Children’s Month 2024, the LGU of Bula, through the MSWD office, organized a special event for daycare children today December 11, 2024. The children were treated to a fun and educational movie experience at Vista Mall in Naga City, where they watched the classic Filipino film “Juan Balucas at Ang Bayabas.”

With this year’s theme, “Break the Prevalence and the Violence: Protecting the Children, Creating a Safe Philippines.”, this event emphasizes the importance of communities, families, schools, and local governments working together to create a secure environment where children learn, develop, and grow. As we celebrate Children's Month, let's keep spreading the message that every child deserves a childhood free from violence and full of chances for achievement and happiness.

Together, we can work towards a safer and brighter future for all children in the Philippines.
