Bilang bahagi ng patuloy na pagsusulong ng mga programang pangkabuhayan ng Pamahalaang Panlalawigan ng Maguindanao del Sur sa ilalim ng pamumuno ni Governor Datu Ali Midtimbang Sr., matagumpay na isinagawa ng Office of the Provincial Veterinarian (OPVET) ang Native Chicken Dispersal Program sa mga bayan ng Pagalungan at Datu Montawal noong Hulyo 22, 2026.
Layunin ng programa na mapalawak ang kabuhayan ng mga kabilang sa marginalized at vulnerable sectors, gaya ng mga Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), Indigenous Peoples (IPs), solo parents, senior citizens na may limitadong kita, at iba pang kwalipikadong benepisyaryo, sa pamamagitan ng pagbibigay ng panimulang kagamitan para sa backyard poultry production.
May kabuuang limampung (50) pamilya ang napagkalooban ng tulong, kung saan dalawampu't lima (25) ang benepisyaryo mula sa bawat bayan. Bawat pamilya ay tumanggap ng sampung (10) katutubong manok, na binubuo ng siyam (9) na inahin at isang (1) tandang, kasama ang isang (1) 50-meter poultry net na magsisilbing panimulang pasilidad para sa kanilang poultry raising.
Sa pamamagitan ng inisyatibong ito, inaasahang mapapalakas ang backyard poultry production, madaragdagan ang mapagkukunan ng pagkain at kita ng mga benepisyaryo, at higit na mapauunlad ang kanilang kabuhayan. Patunay ito ng patuloy na dedikasyon ng Pamahalaang Panlalawigan ng Maguindanao del Sur sa pagbibigay ng mga programang nagbibigay ng pangmatagalang oportunidad at nagtataguyod ng mas matatag at mas maunlad na pamayanan.

The Provincial Government of Maguindanao del Sur conducted a Drug-Free Workplace Orientation and Drug Testing for its employees in partnership with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)–Maguindanao Field Office, BARMM, and the Integrated Provincial Health Office (IPHO) Maguindanao.

The orientation featured discussions on the Drug-Free Workplace Policy, the ill effects of dangerous drugs, and the national drug situation, reinforcing the importance of maintaining a safe, healthy, and drug-free workplace.

The Office of the Provincial Veterinarian (OPVet), under the leadership of Dr. Yussouf Malenkov M. Mangudadatu, actively participated alongside other provincial offices, demonstrating its commitment to promoting employee welfare, integrity, and excellence in public service.

The activity concluded with the conduct of a drug test for participating Provincial Government employees, reaffirming the Provincial Government's commitment to a disciplined, accountable, and drug-free workplace.

The Office of the Provincial Veterinarian (OPVET) successfully conducted a Layer Management Orientation on June 30, 2026, at Kalilintad Hall, Provincial Capitol, Buluan, Maguindanao del Sur, attended by 15 cooperative beneficiaries in preparation for the awarding and turn-over of 720 heads of Ready-to-Lay (RTL) chickens.

The activity equipped participants with essential knowledge on proper layer management, including housing, feeding, health management, biosecurity, and egg production practices to ensure the sustainability and success of the livelihood project.

As part of the program, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Signing Ceremony was also held between the Provincial Government of Maguindanao del Sur and the participating cooperatives, signifying their shared commitment and responsibilities in the successful implementation of the project.

Through this initiative, OPVET continues to promote sustainable poultry production, strengthen food security, and improve the livelihood opportunities of cooperative beneficiaries across the province.

Animal Health Mission under the GIVE HEART Program

The Animal Health Mission under the GIVE HEART Program of the Province of Maguindanao del Sur successfully conducted animal healthcare services in the municipalities of Buluan and Mangudadatu, bringing essential veterinary interventions closer to local communities. The activity aimed to promote animal health, prevent diseases, improve livestock productivity, and support the livelihoods of farmers and animal raisers.

During the implementation of the program, a total of 406 animal health services were rendered to various livestock and poultry species, including cattle, goats, chickens, and ducks. Among the services provided were 24 anti-rabies vaccinations to protect animals and communities from rabies, 3 castration procedures to support proper livestock management, 13 deworming treatments to control internal parasites and improve animal health, and 25 vitamin supplementation services to enhance the immunity and overall condition of animals.

In addition to these interventions, numerous veterinary consultations, disease prevention measures, treatments, and other animal healthcare services were provided, contributing significantly to the total number of services delivered. These efforts helped ensure the health and productivity of livestock and poultry, which are vital sources of income and food security for many families in the area.

The successful conduct of the Animal Health Mission demonstrates the continued commitment of the Provincial Government of Maguindanao del Sur through the GIVE HEART Program in promoting animal welfare and supporting agricultural communities. By providing accessible and timely veterinary services, the program contributes to healthier animals, improved livelihoods, and stronger, more resilient communities. The activity reflects the province’s dedication to serving its constituents with compassion, excellence, and a genuine commitment to sustainable rural development.

The Philippine Red Cross, in partnership with the Provincial Government of Maguindanao del Sur, conducted a Livestock Evacuation Simulation Exercise on June 3, 2026, in Darampua, Sultan sa Barongis, Maguindanao del Sur.

As part of the activity, the Office of the Provincial Veterinarian (OPVet) provided animal health services, including deworming and vitamin supplementation, to help ensure the health and welfare of the animals during emergency situations.

This initiative highlights the importance of disaster preparedness and animal welfare in building resilient communities.
