Today, (August 12, 2026),

The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Agrarian Reform (MAFAR - Lanao del Sur), headed by Provincial Director Atty. Khalid D. Ansano, through the MAFAR Research and Regulatory Division, conducted regular monitoring and surveillance for the detection of crop pests in collaboration with the Local Government Unit of Municipality of Amai Manabilang, headed by Municipal Mayor Hon. Saidamen Leo E. Manabilang.

The team randomly selected four (4) barangays and three (3) sites in each barangay to assess the presence of crop pests and monitor the condition of agricultural crops. The selected areas were Barangay Sumugot, Barangay Punud, Frankfort, and Barangay Mansilano.

Aside from the monitoring and surveillance activities, the team also provided PLEO pesticide to farmers to support the management and control of crop pests. A knapsack sprayer was likewise provided to the cooperative in Barangay Mansilano to enhance their capacity in applying appropriate crop protection measures.

These initiatives demonstrate the continued commitment of MAFAR and the LGU of Amai-Manabilang to providing technical assistance and agricultural support to farmers and cooperatives, strengthening crop protection, promoting sustainable agricultural productivity, and ensuring food security in the municipality.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Agrarian Reform MAFAR - Lanao del Sur led by Provincial Director Atty. Khalid D Ansano successfully conducted a Training on Halal Cattle Practices and Management, attended by MAFAR Municipal Staff from various municipalities across the province. The activity aimed to strengthen the participants' knowledge and skills on halal-compliant cattle production, proper animal husbandry, feeding, health management, and ethical livestock handling in accordance with Islamic principles.

The training reflects MAFAR Lanao del Sur's commitment to enhancing the capabilities of its field personnel, enabling them to effectively provide technical assistance and extension services to livestock farmers while promoting a sustainable and competitive halal livestock industry in the Bangsamoro region.

Today's Activity (August 8, 2026)

📌 The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Agrarian Reform ( MAFAR - Lanao del Sur ), headed by Provincial Director Atty. Khalid D. Ansano, through the Agriculture Division under the leadership of Chief of Operations Engr. AbdulGafar L. Sansarona, officially awarded a Coffee Dehuller to the ( Ranao-baning FAC )Ranao-Baning Farmers Agriculture Cooperative as part of its continuing commitment to strengthening the coffee industry and empowering local farming communities.

This initiative was implemented in collaboration with the Local Government Unit of Amai-Manabilang, led by Municipal Mayor Hon. Saidamen Leo E. Manabilang, in support of the municipality's coffee development efforts. The provision of the Coffee Dehuller is expected to enhance post-harvest processing efficiency, improve the quality and value of locally produced coffee, and increase the productivity and income of coffee farmers.

MAFAR remains steadfast in its commitment to advancing sustainable agricultural development through strategic partnerships, appropriate agricultural interventions, and programs that promote food security, rural development, and the economic empowerment of Bangsamoro farmers.

📌 The Bangsamoro Agriculture Extension Project (BAEP) paid a courtesy call to the
MAFAR - Lanao del Sur, headed by Atty. Khalid D. Ansano. The team also conducted interviews with farmers engaged in white scallion and coffee production to gather relevant information and strengthen agricultural extension initiatives.

Alhamdulillah!
Before receiving the hand tractor, the members of the Agri-Kabuhayan Synergy Producers Cooperative relied on carabaos for land preparation. Today, they use the hand tractor, which has greatly improved their farming operations. It has significantly reduced the time and labor required for tillage, increased efficiency and productivity, and allowed farmers to prepare their fields more quickly for planting. This support has made a meaningful difference in improving their agricultural livelihood.
