The Sangguniang Kabataan of Barangay Buri celebrated Linggo ng Kabataan 2025 on August 9–10 at the Barangay Buri Covered Court.

With the theme "𝔏𝔬𝔠𝔞𝔩 𝔜𝔬𝔲𝔱𝔥 𝔄𝔠𝔱𝔦𝔬𝔫𝔰 𝔣𝔬𝔯 𝔱𝔥𝔢 𝔖𝔇𝔊𝔰 𝔞𝔫𝔡 𝔅𝔢𝔶𝔬𝔫𝔡", Linggo ng Kabataan empowers the youth to showcase their talents, boost self-esteem, develop as future leaders, and recognize their vital role in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through local activities.🧩

On August 9, the event began at 9:00 a.m. with the registration and attendance checking of participants, who were then divided into three groups. This was followed by an opening prayer and a welcome message from Hon. Melba Ellaso, Barangay Kagawad and Chairman of the Committee on Women and Family Welfare. The day’s first activity, the SDGs Stations Adventure, challenged each team to work together and strategize to overcome the different stations. The morning session ended successfully, filled with teamwork and creativity.

In the afternoon, the Volleyball Tournament kicked off, showcasing the participants’ sportsmanship and competitive spirit.🏐

On August 10, in the afternoon, it was filled with 𝔏𝔞𝔯𝔬 𝔫𝔤 𝔏𝔞𝔥𝔦 games, once again featuring the same three groups from the first day. The players demonstrated their competitive sides and strong collaboration. Later in the afternoon, the Volleyball Tournament resumed, culminating in a close match between two teams. The event concluded with the awarding of certificates and prizes, followed by a cleanup of the venue.

The celebration ended on a joyful and fulfilling note, leaving participants with memorable experiences that not only brought fun but also strengthened their skills, camaraderie, and commitment to growth.🔥🧩

The Sangguniang Kabataan of Brgy. Buri had successfully wrapped up their very first Badminton Tournament, held on the 25-26th, of January 2025, at Brgy. Buri Covered Court.

The tournament featured different categories, including Singles, Doubles, and Mixed Doubles, where players from various places and barangays showcased their incredible skills, determination, and sportsmanship throughout the event.

On the first day, the Singles Category was played, with exciting matches that kept the audience watching closely. The second day was full of energy as the Doubles and Mixed Doubles Categories took place, showing great teamwork and exciting rallies.

The event concluded with the awarding of certificates and prizes, celebrating the hard work and efforts of all participants. More than just a competition, the tournament created a sense of camaraderie and fun among the players and spectators alike.

Afterall, Sportsmanship is not just about winning or losing; it's about the joy of the game, the friendships formed, and the memories made along the way.

The Sangguniang Kabataan of Barangay Buri, Burauen, extends their sincere appreciation to the 2nd Year College students from Leyte Normal University (LNU), pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Social Work (BSSW), for partnering with us along with the Barangay Officials, in organizing a Team Building Activity in relation to the celebration of National Children's Month, under the theme: "𝓑𝓻𝓮𝓪𝓴 𝓽𝓱𝓮 𝓟𝓻𝓮𝓿𝓪𝓵𝓮𝓷𝓬𝓮, 𝓔𝓷𝓭 𝓽𝓱𝓮 𝓥𝓲𝓸𝓵𝓮𝓷𝓬𝓮: 𝓟𝓻𝓸𝓽𝓮𝓬𝓽𝓲𝓷𝓰 𝓒𝓱𝓲𝓵𝓭𝓻𝓮𝓷, 𝓒𝓻𝓮𝓪𝓽𝓲𝓷𝓰 𝓪 𝓢𝓪𝓯𝓮 𝓟𝓱𝓲𝓵𝓲𝓹𝓹𝓲𝓷𝓮𝓼" held on November 24, 2024 at Brgy. The Sangguniang Kabataan of Brgy. Buri successfully launched the volleyball tournament this September 30, 2024, which brought the community together. Each team displayed incredible skill and determination, pushing their limits to secure a win.

After a series of intense matches, the tournament concluded with the Lilaley Team taking home the 1st place trophy, followed by the San Joaquin Team in 2nd place, and the Kifar Team securing 3rd place.

Congratulations to all the winners for their outstanding performance! The spirit of good sportsmanship was evident throughout the tournament, showcasing teamwork and respect among players. Also, a special thank you to the SK Chairman, Cholo Avila, for successfully organizing this event, fostering community engagement and athleticism.👏🏆✨🏐

"Games are the universal language of mankind." - Carl Jung.

The Sangguniang Kabataan of Barangay Buri successfully organized the "Laro ng Lahi" event for the celebration of Linggo ng Kabataan 2024, a traditional Filipino game activity aimed at promoting physical activity, camaraderie, and cultural heritage among the youth and community members, held at Barangay Buri Plaza on August 25, 2024.

The event featured a variety of traditional games including sack races, bottle flipping, longest line, "pitik kalamansi," and "bring me" in the morning. In the afternoon, the excitement continued with thrilling activities like "palo sebo" and competitive sports such as volleyball and Mobile Legends tournaments. Winners were awarded prizes to recognize their achievements and encourage further participation.

The "Laro ng Lahi" proved to be a memorable experience for all involved, fostering a sense of unity and community spirit.
