In its continued commitment to empowering local governance and supporting community stakeholders, the DILG Burauen field office has been providing technical assistance to walk-in clients this week, catering to municipal officials and employees, barangay officials, and stakeholders.

The initiative aims to bridge gaps in governance-related concerns by offering on-the-spot guidance on a range of administrative and procedural matters.

BURAUEN LPMC JOINS REGIONAL VIRTUAL TRAINING ON STRENGTHENING PROJECT MONITORING FUNCTIONALITY

In line with the government's commitment to ensuring accountability and transparency in local infrastructure and development programs, the Local Project Monitoring Committee (LPMC) of Burauen, Leyte, actively participated in the regional virtual training titled “Strengthening the Functionality of Local Project Monitoring Committees in Region VIII.” The second session of this vital capacity-building initiative was conducted via the Zoom platform on May 28, 2026.

The virtual session focused on an orientation on the utilization of the LPMC Functionality Assessment Monitoring System and the submission of "Most Significant Change Narratives" for the SubayBAYANI Awards, which recognize outstanding LGU performance in project monitoring and implementation.

In the interest of continuous professional growth and service excellence, LGOO II Rupa of DILG Burauen Field Office participated in a virtual CapDev session titled “Developing Presence, Confidence, and Influence Orientation” on May 28, 2026, via Zoom.

The orientation serves as a tailored learning and development intervention specifically aligned with the target participants' Individual Development Plans (IDPs). By addressing these identified competency requirements, the program aims to equip local government operations officers with enhanced interpersonal communication skills, public presence, and leadership capabilities essential for effective community engagement and field operations.

Through this, DILG Region 8 remains committed to sharpening its human capital, ensuring that its field officers possess the confidence and influence necessary to effectively guide local government units and serve the public.

DILG BURAUEN ATTENDS PROVINCIAL TEAM CONFERENCE FOR MAY 2026

MLGOO Sandy Ivy Rose V. Libanan and LGOO II Vicente E. Rupa Jr. of the DILG Burauen Field Office attended the Provincial Team Conference on May 26, 2026, conducted via the Zoom online platform. The virtual session also integrated the Sub-LGRC Meeting and a dedicated Health and Wellness activity for the participants.

The conference focused on vital updates for priority programs, specifically covering the Foreign Travel Authority (FTA) Application guidelines, administrative concerns, and various program updates. Participants delved into the current implementation status and compliance challenges of these initiatives, identifying specific actionable steps needed to improve coordination and streamline service delivery at the field level.

A key highlight of the meeting was the recognition of various field offices for their outstanding performances during the month of April 2026. To conclude the event, the gathering provided an opportunity for individual cluster meetings to address more localized concerns. 2ND QUARTERLY MEETING OF VAWC DESK OFFICERS CUM ORIENTATION ON ANTI-RAPE LAW AND ANTI-SEXUAL HARASSMENT ACT OF 1995, AND EODB MONTH CELEBRATION

On May 25, 2026, MLGOO Sandy Ivy Rose Libanan attended the 2nd Quarterly Meeting of the Barangay VAWC (Violence Against Women and their Children) Desk Officers of Burauen, Leyte. The activity was spearheaded by the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO), represented by Mr. Ken Tibre, who led the comprehensive orientation on the Anti-Rape Law and the Anti-Sexual Harassment Act of 1995. Furthermore, Mr. Tibre discussed the updated assessment criteria for the 2026 Search for Child-Friendly Barangays, detailing the key changes from the previous year's evaluation and outlining the specific Means of Verification (MOVs) that the desk officers must prepare.

Additionally, in celebration of Ease of Doing Business (EODB) Month, the DILG Burauen Field Office, through MLGOO Libanan, led a general orientation on Republic Act No. 11032, also known as the Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act of 2018, alongside other key Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) requirements. MLGOO Libanan emphasized that simplifying administrative processes and eliminating bureaucratic red tape are essential steps in building public trust and delivering swift, compassionate service to the community.

Through these continuous capacity-building efforts, the municipality of Burauen reinforces its commitment to fostering safer, more child-friendly neighborhoods while championing transparency and efficiency in public service.

BARANGAY OFFICIALS JOIN VIRTUAL ORIENTATION ON ENHANCED AND DIGITALIZED LGU SERVICES

In a major step toward modernizing local governance and improving public service delivery, Burauen’s barangay officials actively participated in a webinar titled “Fast, Fair, Digital: Enhancing LGU Services Through Rationalized Fees and Charges, Barangay Clearance Integration, and Paleng-QR PH,” on Tuesday, May 26, 2026. The activity was spearheaded by DILG Regional Office VIII alongside the DILG Bureau of Local Government Development (BLGD), the Bureau of Local Government Finance (BLGF), and the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) – Tacloban Branch.

The virtual orientation is part of a broader commitment to fulfill the mandates of the Ease of Doing Business (EODB) Law and ensure efficient service delivery among Local Government Units (LGUs). The discussion focused heavily on strengthening the efficiency, transparency, and digitalization of local services.

By participating in the orientation, barangay officials are equipping themselves with the necessary tools to transition traditional community transactions into the digital age.
