𝐈𝐧 𝐏𝐡𝐨𝐭𝐨𝐬|| Through the active leadership of 𝐉𝐈𝐍𝐒𝐏 𝐄𝐃𝐄𝐋𝐈𝐓𝐎 𝐀 𝐕𝐄𝐋𝐀𝐑𝐃𝐄, Acting District Jail Warden, under the supervision of 𝐉𝐒𝐒𝐔𝐏𝐓 𝐑𝐈𝐋𝐋 𝐅 𝐒𝐎𝐍𝐎𝐍, 𝐃𝐒𝐂, 𝐉𝐃, Regional Director of the Jail Bureau BJMPROVIII, personnel of Burauen District Jail led by the assistant jail warden SJO4 Dindo V Alcober support to community development and the promotion of volunteerism thru Brigada Eskwela 2026 "𝐁𝐀𝐘𝐀𝐍𝐈𝐇𝐀𝐍 𝐒𝐀 𝐏𝐀𝐀𝐑𝐀𝐋𝐀𝐍: 𝐍𝐀𝐆𝐊𝐀𝐊𝐀𝐈𝐒𝐀 𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐀 𝐒𝐀 𝐊𝐀𝐀𝐘𝐔𝐒𝐀𝐍 𝐀𝐓 𝐊𝐀𝐀𝐋𝐀𝐌𝐀𝐍", conducted in various educational institutions within the municipality. The activity was held at Buraburon National High School, Burauen Comprehensive National High School, and Burauen South Central School.

BJMP personnel rendered their time, effort, and resources in assisting school officials, teachers, and other stakeholders in preparing the school facilities for the upcoming academic year. Activities undertaken included general cleaning for the sanitation areas to ensure a safe and conducive learning environment for students.

The participation of BJMP highlights the agency’s commitment to community engagement and nation-building, strengthening its partnership with the Department of Education and the Local Government Unit. Through this initiative, BJMP personnel demonstrated the spirit of “Bayanihan”, unity, and shared responsibility in supporting the education sector.

𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦 | A significant milestone was marked as 𝐉𝐒𝐒𝐔𝐏𝐓 𝐑𝐈𝐋𝐋 𝐅 𝐒𝐎𝐍𝐎𝐍, 𝐃𝐒𝐂, 𝐉𝐃, Regional Director of the Jail Bureau, together with 𝐉𝐂𝐈𝐍𝐒𝐏 𝐌𝐀𝐘-𝐀𝐍𝐍 𝐑 𝐁𝐄𝐉𝐔𝐍𝐀, Chief, Regional Logistics Division; 𝐉𝐂𝐈𝐍𝐒𝐏 𝐂𝐈𝐑𝐈𝐋𝐎 𝐆 𝐎𝐂𝐎𝐍, Regional Engineer; 𝐉𝐈𝐍𝐒𝐏 𝐄𝐃𝐄𝐋𝐈𝐓𝐎 𝐀 𝐕𝐄𝐋𝐀𝐑𝐃𝐄, District Jail Warden ; SJO4 Abraham T Antivo, Jr., Regional Executive Senior Jail Officer (RESJO); Regional Office personnel and Burauen District Jail personnel, attended the Inauguration of the Commemorative Marker and Ceremonial Turnover of the Land Title of Burauen District Jail in Burauen, Leyte on May 28, 2026.

The program commenced with an opening ceremony, followed by inspirational messages from distinguished guests highlighting the importance of collaboration between the community and government agencies in strengthening public service institutions. The highlight of the event was the formal turnover of the land title by Mrs. Marrissa Dumagat Carilla to Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) thru JSSUPT RILL F SONON, DSC, JD, Regional Director of the Jail Bureau. This symbolizing her generosity and commitment in supporting the development of a more secure and improved jail facility.

Subsequently, the unveiling of the commemorative marker was conducted to officially mark the significance of the donated property and to recognize the invaluable contribution of the donor. This milestone is expected to greatly contribute to the enhancement of the jail’s infrastructure, ensuring better accommodation, security, and welfare for Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) as well as the personnel.

The BJMP expressing sincere appreciation to Mrs. Carilla for her benevolence who continuously support the agency’s mission. The successful conduct of the event signifies a strong partnership between the BJMP and the community, paving the way for future development initiatives and improved public service delivery.

The activity was conducted in coordination with the Burauen District Jail personnel headed by JINSP EDELITO A VELARDE, Acting Jail Warden, and the generous lot donor, Mrs. Marissa D. Carilla.
The program featured the ceremonial turnover of the Owner’s Duplicate Certificate of Title of the donated property and the installation of the commemorative marker, symbolizing another milestone in strengthening the Jail Bureau’s infrastructure development and facilitating the transfer of the land title in favor of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP).

San Esteban, Brgy. Sambel, Brgy. Malabca, and Brgy. Patong, Burauen, Leyte, over a span of two days from May 20-21, 2026.
The activity was spearheaded by the Municipal Mayor, Hon. Fe S. Renomeron, with the full support and collaboration of municipal department heads, Sangguniang Bayan members, LGU and DILG family.
The CIVAC initiative aimed to bring essential government services closer to the community in every barangays. The activity also featured a wide range of services such as dental and medical missions, social services assistance, feeding program, and other services by the LGU of Burauen.

𝐈𝐧 𝐏𝐡𝐨𝐭𝐨𝐬|| Through the active leadership of 𝐉𝐈𝐍𝐒𝐏 𝐄𝐃𝐄𝐋𝐈𝐓𝐎 𝐀 𝐕𝐄𝐋𝐀𝐑𝐃𝐄, Acting District Jail Warden, under the supervision of 𝐉𝐒𝐒𝐔𝐏𝐓 𝐑𝐈𝐋𝐋 𝐅 𝐒𝐎𝐍𝐎𝐍, 𝐃𝐒𝐂, 𝐉𝐃, Regional Director of the Jail Bureau BJMPROVIII.
A riverbank clean-up drive under the “Adopt-a-Waterbody Program” was successfully conducted at the Daguitan River, Burauen, Leyte through the joint efforts of the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO) in coordination with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR). The activity aimed to promote environmental awareness, strengthen community participation, and restore the cleanliness and sustainability of local water resources.
Personnel of this jail unit participated in by various stakeholders including the Municipal Social Welfare and Development (MSWD), Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Persons Who Used Drugs (PWUDs), as well as Parolees and Probationers. The collaboration among these agencies and sectors highlighted a strong sense of unity and shared responsibility in protecting the environment.
Participants conducted thorough cleaning along the riverbanks, collecting and properly disposing of various types of waste such as plastics, bottles, and other debris that contribute to water pollution. The activity also served as an avenue to instill discipline, environmental stewardship, and social responsibility among the participants, especially the PWUDs, parolees, and probationers, as part of their reintegration and community involvement.

Monday flag raising ceremony, alongside with LGU employees and other uniformed services, is of great importance as it promotes unity, discipline, and a shared sense of patriotism. This activity strengthens inter-agency collaboration, fosters camaraderie, and reinforces the commitment of all government workers to serve the public with integrity and dedication. Moreover, it serves as a constant reminder of our duty to uphold the values of nationalism, respect for the flag, and collective responsibility in nation-building.
