LOOK: Conduct of IEC Campaign at the Buruanga Public Market
The Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO) is currently conducting an Information, Education and Communication (IEC) Campaign and distribution of IEC materials at the Public Market, reiterating the Municipal Ordinances on Solid Waste Management.
This activity aims to strengthen public awareness and compliance with Municipal Ordinance No. 1, Series of 2017, which mandates Segregation at Source and Segregated Collection of Waste, emphasizing the strict implementation of the “No Segregation, No Collection” policy.
The campaign also reiterates Municipal Ordinance No. 8, Series of 2020, which regulates the use of single-use plastics as packaging materials. Vendors and consumers are encouraged to bring their own eco-bag or bayong as an environmentally friendly alternative.
This initiative is fully supported by the Local Government Unit under the leadership of Hon. Allan P. Dagohoy, Municipal Mayor, together with Vice Municipal Mayor Hon. Femy C. Dumaguin and the Honorable Members of the Sangguniang Bayan, in promoting environmental responsibility and strengthening the implementation of solid waste management programs in the municipality.
