Tinanghal na kampeon ang Munisipalidad ng Buruanga, sa pamamagitan ng Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (LDRRMC) nito, sa isinagawang Provincial Assessment of LDRRMC para sa kategoryang 3rd to 4th Class Municipalities sa 11th Aklan Provincial Rescuelympics 2026.

Nakamit ng Buruanga LDRRMC ang 85.25% na rating sa Provincial Assessment para sa Calendar Year 2025, bilang pagkilala sa kanilang patuloy na serbisyo, dedikasyon, sakripisyo at mga natatanging nagawa sa pagsusulong ng mas ligtas at mas matatag na komunidad sa Aklan.

Iginawad ang naturang parangal nitong Hulyo 4 sa Makato, Aklan, bilang bahagi ng 11th Aklan Provincial Rescuelympics.

Pursuant to Executive Order No. 25, Series of 2026, issued by Municipal Mayor Allan P. Dagohoy, classes at all levels in both public and private schools in the Municipality of Buruanga are hereby suspended effective immediately and until further notice.

This suspension is due to the Low Pressure Area (LPA) reported by PAGASA through Weather Advisory No. 9 issued at 11:00 AM on June 30, 2026, which may bring moderate to heavy rainfall and increase the risk of flooding and landslides in susceptible areas.

The suspension was recommended by the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) of Buruanga to ensure the safety and welfare of students, teachers, and school personnel.

School heads and administrators are directed to:
โ€ข Implement necessary precautionary measures
โ€ข Ensure the safety and security of school property
โ€ข Inform students, parents, and guardians of this suspension
โ€ข Continue monitoring official weather updates and advisories

The MDRRMO will continue monitoring weather conditions and provide updates as necessary. Residents are advised to stay alert and follow official announcements from PAGASA, MDRRMO Buruanga, and the Municipal Government of Buruanga.

The Local Government Unit of Buruanga proudly joined the celebration of Philippine Arbor Day 2026, Environment Month, and the launch of Luntiang Bukas through a meaningful tree planting activity held on June 25, 2026 at Barangay Tag-Osip, Buruanga, Aklan.

The activity was spearheaded by Hon. Mayor Allan P. Dagohoy in collaboration with the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO) Buruanga and the personnel of PENRO Aklan, bringing together municipal officials and employees, barangay officials from Tag-Osip, Tigum, Katipunan, and Mayapay, as well as the dedicated staff and volunteers of the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO).

With the theme "Luntiang Bukas," the initiative highlighted the collective commitment of the local government, MENRO Buruanga, PENRO Aklan, partner agencies, and the community to environmental protection, climate resilience, and sustainable development. Every seedling planted symbolizes our shared responsibility to preserve nature and create a greener, healthier future for the next generations.
