Inihayag ng DOST-PAGASA noong April 22, 2026 na nasa El Niño Alert na ang bansa. Ibig sabihin, paparating na ang El Niño kung saan inaasahan itong magsisimula sa pagitan ng Hunyo hanggang Agosto 2026.

Sa ganitong sitwasyon, nagiging mainit ang kapaligiran at madalang ang pag-ulan, kaya mataas ang panganib na magkaroon ng heat-related illnesses. Alamin sa social media card na ito kung paano protektahan ang iyong sarili at pamilya.

Mahalagang paalala ng DOH: Magkakaroon pa rin ng mga ulan, hindi lang kasing dalas ng dati sa ganitong mga buwan ng taon.

The Department of Health-CHD Caraga reminds the general public on WHAT TO DO AFTER AN EARTHQUAKE:

-Stay Calm
-Check yourself for any injuries and seek medical help
-After you have taken care of yourself, help injured or trapped persons near the affected area.
-Inspect your home for damage. Examine walls, floor, doors, staircases, and windows to make sure that the building is not in danger of collapsing.
-Check for gas leaks, electrical system damage, and water line damage.
-Watch for loose plaster, drywall, and ceilings that could fall.
Use battery-powered flashlights to inspect your home. Kerosene lanterns, torches, candles, and matches may tip over or ignite flammables inside.
-Get everyone out if your home is unsafe.
-Listen to the radio or television for updated emergency information and instructions. Keep yourself informed about the latest updates on earthquakes and aftershocks through reliable sources such as PHIVOLCS-DOST and disaster management agencies. Refrain from spreading fake news that can lead to unnecessary panic and confusion.
-Stay out of damaged buildings. If you are away from home, return only when authorities say it is safe.
-To prepare for a possible earthquake recurrence, ready your supply kit: food (e.g. biscuits), water, clothing, first aid supplies, a mobile phone, a whistle, and a flashlight with extra batteries.

Ngayong Safe Motherhood Week

Mommy importanteng mapaghandaan mo at kumpletuhin ang mga check-up habang nagbunbuntis!

Dapat at least walong beses ang pagbisita sa health center habang nagbubuntis para ikaw ay mabigyan ng wastong gabay sa inyong nutrisyon, mga bitamina, at pati na mga aktibidad na kailangang iwasan lalo na sa maselang pagbubuntis. Ang madalas na pagpapacheck-up ay makakapagtaas rin ng tyansa ng ligtas na pagbubuntis para sa nanay pati na sa baby.

Tandaan ninyo na dapat sa pagbubuntis, ang nanay ay nasa mabuting pisikal na kalusugan, para ang baby ay magdevelop nang tama at walalang komplikasyon hanggang sa inaasahang petsa ng panganganak.

Magpacheck-up din at least apat na beses pagkatapos na manganak.
