LOOK: NAPOLCOM Conducts Information Drive for Trainees at PNP Regional Training Center in Lipata, Surigao City

LIPATA, SURIGAO CITY (October 21, 2026) — To keep future police officers well-informed about their welfare entitlements and service benefits, the National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) held an Information Drive yesterday at the Philippine National Police (PNP) Regional Training Center in Lipata, Surigao City.

Mr. Jay Ar Pepito, Financial Claims Examiner II, served as the resource speaker and engaged the police trainees and training staff on key welfare services administered by NAPOLCOM.

The recent NAPOLCOM Information Drive at the PNP Regional Training Center highlighted several key topics essential for future police officers. These included a comprehensive briefing on benefit programs and claims, covering death, disability, and burial benefits, as well as guidelines on special financial assistance and educational scholarships for dependents. The session also emphasized best practices for streamlined documentation to avoid future claim delays and reaffirmed NAPOLCOM’s constitutional mandate for administrative control and operational supervision over the PNP.

The activity reflects NAPOLCOM’s continuing commitment to safeguard the morale, welfare, and financial awareness of police personnel from day one of their training.

LOOK: A total of 1,167 out of 1,273 examinees (91.67%) at the Butuan City Examination Center and 582 out of 610 examinees (95.41%) at the Surigao City Examination Center successfully took the PNP Entrance and Promotional Examinations on October 18, 2026. The examinations were held at Libertad National High School (LNHS) in Butuan City and Surigao del Norte State University (SNSU) in Surigao City.

NAPOLCOM Caraga warmly extends its sincere appreciation to all partner agencies whose cooperation and dedication contributed to the smooth and successful conduct of the said examinations.

READ | PRESS RELEASE: NAPOLCOM Exam Questions Revised to Counter Diploma Mill Schools. NAPOLCOM Successfully Administers Nationwide PNP Entrance and Promotional Examinations

The National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) successfully administered the Philippine National Police (PNP) Entrance and Promotional Examinations this morning, October 18, across designated testing centers nationwide, reaffirming its commitment to merit-based recruitment and promotion in the police service.

A total of 41,566 civilian and police examinees took the tests, which ran from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. NAPOLCOM officials and personnel from the Central and Regional Offices oversaw the conduct of the examinations to ensure an orderly, secure, and credible testing process.

NAPOLCOM Commissioner Ralph Calinisan underscored the desire of the Commission to only recruit the best applicants.

"All exam questions in this cycle are new. We made it a point to change the exams to really test the competency of police applicants and promotables. This is part of our process to make sure that those who enter the police force, and stay in the force, are the best of the best. This will w**d out graduates from diploma mill schools," Calinisan said

Calinisan also aired an appeal to Criminology Schools. "Relatedly, we are also calling on the Criminology Schools to seriously revisit their curricula. There should now be a focus on cybercriminology, as crimes are now being done online. We are no longer living in an archaic world. Everyone in the world is interconnected. Our police force must also be able to adapt to this changing landscape," added Calinisan.

He further underscored the responsibility that comes with entering or advancing in the police organization.

“Ang pagiging pulis ay hindi lamang tungkol sa pagpasok o pag-angat sa ranggo. Ito ay pagtanggap ng mas malaking pananagutan sa sambayanan. Kaya tungkulin ng NAPOLCOM na tiyaking ang bawat pagkakataong makapasok at umangat sa serbisyo ay nakabatay sa kakayahan, integridad, at kahandaang maglingkod. Ang tiwala ng taumbayan ay kailangang pagtrabahuhan at patunayan araw-araw.”

The official results are expected to be released within forty-five (45) days. Those who pass will qualify for inclusion in the pool of eligibles for PNP recruitment or promotion, as applicable, helping strengthen the PNP’s capacity to deliver professional, accountable, and people-centered service.
