Under the leadership of PGen Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., Chief, Philippine National Police (PNP), police units across the country accounted for 16 wanted persons in separate warrant operations on October 5, 2026.

The operations covered several provinces and cities and involved individuals facing cases ranging from r**e and murder to violations of the New Anti-Carnapping Act. Several were among the highest-ranked wanted persons in their respective areas.

In Oriental Mindoro, a 22-year-old man ranked No. 7 regional wanted person was arrested for r**e, with no bail recommended. In Zamboanga del Sur, a 69-year-old man ranked No. 9 was arrested for qualified r**e of a minor, also with no bail recommended.

In Capiz, a No. 9 wanted person was arrested for two counts of r**e, while in Cebu, a No. 3 wanted person was arrested for two counts of statutory r**e. Both cases had no bail recommended.

In Iloilo, two No. 3 wanted persons were separately arrested. One was wanted for murder and the other for two counts of statutory r**e; both cases carried no bail recommendation. Another No. 3 wanted person was arrested in Zamboanga del Sur for murder and attempted murder, with no bail recommended for the murder case and โ‚ฑ120,000.00 bail for attempted murder.

In Davao del Norte, a No. 14 most wanted person under the Highway Patrol Group target list was arrested for violation of Republic Act No. 10883, with โ‚ฑ300,000.00 bail recommended.

Two wanted persons were also accounted for in Negros Occidental: a No. 8 wanted person for murder, with no bail recommended, and a No. 6 wanted person for acts of lasciviousness, with โ‚ฑ189,000.00 bail recommended.

In Zamboanga City, a No. 10 most wanted person was arrested for r**e, while in Zamboanga Sibugay, a No. 8 wanted person was arrested for murder. Both cases carried no bail recommendation. In Laguna, a No. 7 wanted person was arrested for murder, also with no bail recommended.

In Pangasinan, a No. 6 wanted person was arrested for violation of Republic Act No. 10883, with โ‚ฑ180,000.00 bail recommended. In Sultan Kudarat, a No. 9 wanted person was arrested in connection with four counts of r**e and was subsequently turned over to the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office as directed by the court.

Separately, a Chinese national was arrested in Tacloban City for alleged violation of Republic Act No. 8293, or the Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines, with โ‚ฑ60,000.00 bail recommended.

โ€œA warrant is not just a piece of paper that has to be served. Our personnel have to make sure the information is verified, the operation is properly coordinated, and the person is handled according to law. That is how we do the job right,โ€ PGen Nartatez said.

โ€œAng mahalaga, maayos ang proseso mula simula hanggang matapos. We will act on valid warrants, but we will also make sure that the rights of the person involved are respected,โ€ he added.

The operations are part of the PNPโ€™s Enhanced Managing Police Operations under the PNP Focused Agenda, using validated information and coordination to act on court-issued warrants. These efforts support the peace and security priorities of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.

The PNP reminds the public not to confront or approach wanted persons. Information should instead be reported to the nearest police station or through proper police channels.

These lawful police operations form part of the PNPโ€™s continuing delivery of โ€œBagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat at Nararamdaman.โ€
