📍 HAPPENING NOW | DTI Agusan del Norte Joins the DOLE Kalayaan Job Fair and One-Stop-Shop

In celebration of the 128th Philippine Independence Day, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Agusan del Norte is actively participating in the DOLE Kalayaan Job Fair and One-Stop-Shop, bringing government services closer to the public.

Negosyo Center Business Counsellors are currently on duty at the DTI booth to facilitate the agency’s frontline services and assist clients with their business-related concerns. Information materials on entrepreneurship, business development, and consumer awareness are also being distributed to help promote informed and empowered communities.

Through its participation in this event, DTI Agusan del Norte continues to support aspiring entrepreneurs, existing MSMEs, job seekers, and consumers by providing accessible information and services that contribute to economic growth and nation-building.

As we commemorate the spirit of freedom and progress, DTI remains committed to empowering Filipinos through entrepreneurship, consumer education, and inclusive economic opportunities.

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Agusan del Norte is currently participating in the celebration of Migrant Workers’ Day organized by the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) Caraga.

As part of the activity, DTI Agusan del Norte is providing its frontline services to our Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), migrant workers, and beneficiaries through:

✅ Business Information and Advocacy

BUTUAN CITY – As part of the Training and Workshop on Capacity Development on Leadership, Empowerment and Development held on May 20, 2026 at VCDU Prince Hotel, DTI Agusan del Norte shares the basics on Consumer Rights and Responsibilities as well as on Financial Literacy Awareness to youth leaders belonging to indigenous peoples (IPs) groups across Caraga Region. The activity aims to equip the next generation IPs with knowledge and skills for seamless interaction with the current demands of the times especially on matters that will redound to the advancement of IP welfare and development. The capacity-building activity is one of several interventions for IPs made possible largely in part of the Department of Agriculture’s (DA) Mindanao Inclusive Agriculture Development Project (MIADP) in coordination with the National Commission for Indigenous Peoples (NCIP).

BUTUAN CITY — The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Agusan del Norte, through Negosyo Center Butuan City, in partnership with the 29th Infantry Battalion, successfully conducted a Strategic Marketing Training for Vegetable and Crop Production on April 21, 2026, for selected representatives of Sustainable Livelihood Program Associations (SLPAs) from Barangays Anticala and Pianing.

The training introduced participants to several practical guide designed to help farmers and agri-entrepreneurs improve their income and market positioning. Key lessons highlighted the importance of understanding that not all customers have the same needs, encouraging participants to match their products with the right buyers based on price, volume, and quality. Participants also learned how simple value-adding practices—such as proper cleaning, sorting, and packaging—can significantly increase product value and selling price.

Moreover, the session emphasized the importance of knowing production costs before setting prices, choosing the most suitable market channels (whether bulk buyers, local eateries, or premium markets), and building strong relationships with customers to ensure repeat sales and long-term income stability.

Through this initiative, DTI continues to strengthen grassroots entrepreneurship by equipping local farmers with practical, market-driven strategies—empowering them to transition from traditional farming to becoming competitive agripreneurs in today’s evolving market landscape.

The Department of Trade and Industry Caraga is on the search for a new batch of micro and small businesses to join the 2026 batch of the Kapatid Mentor ME (KMME) - Money Market Encounter (MME) Program online!

KMME-MME is designed to support micro and small entrepreneurs in scaling up their businesses through weekly coaching and mentoring sessions led by experienced business owners and industry practitioners, covering key areas of entrepreneurship.

Requirements:

1. At least 18 years of age
2. A resident of the Province/District in Caraga Region (CTC, valid IDs)
3. Must be the Owner of Co-owner of and/or partner of the business
4. Business is operating for at least one (1) year
5. Business is registered (with documentations)
6. Has employee/s and/or manages a team
7. Willing to attend sessions on specified schedules
8. Willing to enter into a Contract of Commitment
