In Sitio Calipayan, Barangay Bangayan, Kitcharao, Agusan del Norte, the Nissen Coffee Farm is redefining rural enterprise and putting Filipino coffee on the global map.

Founded in 2023 by Rojean E. Jensen, the 6.6-hectare farm cultivates Robusta, Arabica, Liberica, and Excelsa beans, now enjoyed by European consumers.

More than a coffee producer, the farm empowers local residents by training them as processors, roasters, and quality handlers, offering stable livelihoods and skills development.

Jensen’s commitment to sustainability and direct trade led to the creation of a micro roastery in Rodekro, Denmark, where beans from Agusan del Norte and other Asian regions are freshly roasted for international markets.

With support from Denmark and the Department of Trade and Industry’s Kapatid Mentor ME Program, Jensen has expanded her impact, promoting fellow local producers like the Casiklan Wheels Farmers Association.

Her journey reflects a powerful blend of education, entrepreneurship, and community upliftment—one that continues to brew opportunity and pride for Filipino coffee farmers.
