"Education is the key that unlocks the golden door to freedom." - GWC

In its continuing efforts to shape and transform the perspective of Butuanon youth voters to be responsible, discerning and ethical members of the electorate, the Office of Comelec Butuan City facilitated another voter education activity at Butuan City Integrated National High School through the Bumoto Ayon sa TamA (BATA) Program.

The activity was participated in by Senior High School learners who, for the first time, will exercise their constitutional rights and privileges to vote in the 2026 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (2026 BSKE).

"The Foundation of Every State is the Education of its Youth." - Diogenes

Comelec Butuan City formally kicked off the Bumoto Ayon sa TamA (BATA) Voter Education activities earlier today at Taligaman National High School and Agusan Pequeno National High School. The structured-based voter education program aims to provide first-time voters with the fundamental understanding of the Philippine Political System, Right to Suffrage and Voter Qualifications, the Philippine Electoral System and Process, and the Rights and Responsibilities of a Voter.

Participated in by more than 100 senior high school learners, this program advocates for shaping the perspective of our young voters to be more discerning, responsible, and ethical in exercising their constitutional right and privilege to vote for the future leaders in their respective communities. As we approach the 2026 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (2026 BSKE), this timely activity was made possible through the strong partnership with the Department of Education Butuan City Division.

Not all Heroes wear cape ๐Ÿฆธ๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿฆธโ€โ™€๏ธ

In observance of the National Heroes Day, personnel of Comelec Butuan City are all in attendance today to plan out the implementation of 2-week long voter education activities for senior high schools learners in various secondary schools in the city. This undertaking is in partnership with DepEd Butuan City Division as we continue to advocate for responsible Butuanon voters.

Also part of the agenda is the planned Prospective Candidates Orientation to be conducted prior to the start of the scheduled filing of the certificates of candidacy for the 2026 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections. Despite the numerous proposals to reset the schedule of the , preparations for this yearโ€™s village polls remain in high gear until a new law is approved by the Malacaรฑang Palace.

Sometimes, small actions, if done in unison, create undeniable huge impact in achieving the ultimate goal. We all could be Heroes.

Through hard work, dedication, and the love for our country, however, continues to motivate and inspire our reputable educators to share their valuable time, knowledge and expertise to ensure that our elections remain credible and our democracy alive.

๐Ÿ“š Strengthening youth voter education through partnership and collaboration!

Earlier today, COMELEC Agusan del Norte Provincial Election Director Atty. April Joy P. Balano and DepEd Butuan City Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Minerva T. Albis formally signed the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for the implementation of the BATA Program in Butuan City.

The signing was witnessed by Mr. Ganger R. Raรฑada, Election Officer IV of the Office of the City Election Officer (OCEO) of Butuan City, and Dr. Benjie P. Jacob, Education Program Supervisor of the DepEd Schools Division of Butuan City.

Through this partnership, the BATA Program of COMELEC Agusan del Norte continues to expand its reach and strengthen its collaboration with the education sector. The program is now formalized through MOAs with the Department of Education Schools Divisions of Agusan del Norte, Cabadbaran City, and Butuan City.
