A total of thirty-five (35) aspiring welders reached a significant milestone as they successfully completed the Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) NC I training, opening new opportunities for employment and livelihood. The graduation ceremony marked not only the culmination of their hard work and dedication, but also the beginning of a new chapter as they prepare to enter the workforce with confidence and purpose.

During the ceremony, one of the graduates, Mark Jason Torralba, shared a heartfelt message on behalf of his fellow trainees, reflecting on the sacrifices and perseverance that led them to this milestone. He described the certificate they received as “usa ka resibo sa atong hinaguan,” emphasizing that it symbolizes the hard work and determination they poured into the training. He also expressed that the knowledge and skills they acquired would serve as their strength as they pursue employment opportunities and strive for a brighter future.

Through the training conducted by the City Employment Services Department-Butuan City Manpower Training Center (BCMTC), the graduates were equipped with practical welding skills and essential workplace knowledge, preparing them for opportunities in the construction and industrial sectors. This reflects the Butuan City Government’s continued commitment to empowering Butuanons through skills development and creating pathways toward better employment and sustainable livelihoods.
