During today’s Management Committee (MANCOM) Meeting [8/10/2026], the Cabadbaran City Cooperative Development Office (CCCDO) presented updates on its recent programs, activities, and accomplishments in support of cooperative development in the City of Cabadbaran.
1. Orientation for Aspiring Cooperatives
The CCCDO conducted an orientation for aspiring cooperatives, focusing on the importance, principles, benefits, and role of cooperatives in community development. The activity aims to help organized groups understand the responsibilities of becoming a cooperative and how cooperatives can contribute to inclusive economic growth and community empowerment.
2. Regional Orientation-Workshop on RA 11765
The CCCDO participated in the Regional Orientation-Workshop on the Implementation of Republic Act No. 11765, or the Financial Products and Services Consumer Protection Act. The activity strengthened the office’s understanding of financial consumer protection and its application to cooperative operations, particularly among cooperatives engaged in financial services.
3. Focus Group Discussion on Possible CDA Findings of ABFMPC
A Focus Group Discussion (FGD) was also conducted to prepare cooperatives for possible findings during the inspection and assessment of the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA). The discussion focused particularly on reviewing the Articles of Cooperation and By-Laws, identifying possible areas for compliance, correction, and improvement, amendments, and helping cooperatives become more prepared for CDA assessment.
4. National CDA Recognition for Cooperative Leadership and Support
The CCCDO likewise presented the rationale behind the recognition given by the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) to Engr. Louiel C. Bulang, City Cooperative Development Officer, and Hon. Judy C. Amante, City Mayor, in recognition of their contributions and support to cooperative development.
The recognition reflects the collaborative efforts of the CDA, CCCDO, the City Government, and the cooperative sector in advancing cooperative programs and services in Cabadbaran City.
In connection with this recognition, Engr. Louiel C. Bulang formally handed over the Plaque of Recognition to Hon. Judy C. Amante, acknowledging the Local Chief Executive’s continuing support, leadership, and commitment to the development and strengthening of cooperatives in the City.
