On June 3, 2026, Cadiz City Jail proudly participated in the Institutional Pagkilala 2026 held at the Sagay City Gymnasium and organized by the State University of Northern Negros.

The activity was conducted to recognize and honor the invaluable contributions of partner agencies, stakeholders, and community supporters whose unwavering commitment plays a vital role in molding students toward a brighter and more promising future. Through strong collaboration and shared responsibility, educational institutions and partner organizations continue to empower the youth and prepare them for future endeavors.

Cadiz City Jail is deeply honored and grateful for the recognition bestowed upon the Bureau. This acknowledgment serves as an inspiration for us to further strengthen our partnerships and remain steadfast in our commitment to community development, public service, and transformative programs.

Cadiz City Jail under the leadership of JSINSP JOSEPH ANTHONY T BAYAN, Acting City Jail Warden, Cadiz City, through its Welfare and Development Program, proudly celebrated the birthday celebrants for the month of May 2026, composed of both our dedicated personnel and Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs).

Cadiz City Jail personnel and JO1 Trainees proudly joined the “Dalagan Kontra Droga” initiated by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Cadiz City, in support of the government’s intensified campaign against illegal drugs and the promotion of a healthy, drug-free community.

The activity aimed to raise awareness on the dangers of drug abuse while encouraging active participation in sports and physical fitness as a positive alternative lifestyle. Through this run, Cadiz City Jail reaffirms its commitment to the advocacy of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) in supporting community-based programs that strengthen discipline, wellness, and unity among personnel and the public.

In line with its continuous commitment to safeguard the health and well-being of Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL), Cadiz City Jail successfully coordinated with Cadiz City District Hospital for a lecture on Hypertension and Stroke Awareness, held for the benefit of all PDL.

With the intense summer heat posing higher health risks, this timely activity aims to equip our PDL with essential knowledge on how to prevent high blood pressure, recognize early warning signs of stroke, and adopt a healthier lifestyle even within the custodial environment. Through this initiative, they are empowered to make informed choices that can help protect and improve their overall well-being.

The Cadiz City Jail extends its sincere gratitude to the medical team of Cadiz City District Hospital for their invaluable support, time, and expertise in sharing life-saving information. Your dedication greatly contributes to the health education and reformation efforts of our facility.

As the Bureau continues to evolve and strengthen its mandate, proper guidance, discipline, and continuous learning remain essential in developing competent and service oriented personnel. Through mentorship, hands-on experience, and values-driven leadership, the trainees will be equipped with the necessary knowledge, skills, and competencies needed in the effective performance of their duties and responsibilities.

The Gulayan sa Piitan of Cadiz City Jail stands as a simple yet powerful innovation transforming once plain and unused areas into a vibrant, productive, and greener environment. More than just a garden, it is a symbol of hope, discipline, and positive change.

Through this initiative, Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) are given the opportunity to engage in meaningful activities that promote responsibility, patience, and teamwork. It also contributes to their daily food supply, supporting the Bureau’s goal of food sustainability and better nutrition inside the facility.

Most importantly, the Gulayan serves as a tool for reformation instilling values of hard work, self-worth, and environmental awareness. As they nurture the plants, they also cultivate personal growth, preparing them for a more productive and law-abiding life beyond the walls.
