📚✨ 67th Public Library Day Celebration

In line with this year’s theme, “Public Libraries in Action: Blueprint of an Empowered Community,” the Cadiz City Public Library continues to bring learning beyond its walls and into the heart of the community.

We extend our sincere thanks to Brgy. Zone 2 Child Development Center for warmly welcoming our school outreach activity. It was a meaningful opportunity to share the value of reading and connect with young learners.

We also thank the students who joined our trivia quiz held at the library. Your enthusiasm and participation made the activity both fun and inspiring.

Our heartfelt gratitude as well to the Sangguniang Panlungsod for their continued support in making these programs possible.

Together, we continue building an empowered and informed community through our public library. 📖🐳

From Pabasa sa Plaza to our outreach programs, reading activities, and other library initiatives throughout the year of 2025, the Cadiz City Public Library remained committed to spreading the value of reading and making the library a space for learning, creativity, and connection.

These moments remind us that libraries are not just about books. They are about people, opportunities, and communities growing together.

As we look ahead to another year, we hope to continue doing even more for our community and reaching more readers, learners, and dreamers.

🎨 Art lives in every story told and every imagination awakened. 🎭

Last February 20, 2026, in celebration of National Arts Month with the theme “Ani ng Sining: Katotohanan at Galing,” we held another Pabasa sa Plaza, where storytelling became a meaningful expression of creativity and learning. Through expressive voices, thoughtfully prepared props, and shared moments of joy, the stories came to life and inspired young minds to read, imagine, and create. 📚📚

Thank you to everyone who joined us in making the day meaningful and vibrant. Special thanks to the immersion students from SPED High School for their dedication and effort in delivering such an engaging and fun storytelling session. Let us continue to celebrate the arts by nurturing creativity and fostering a love for reading in our community. 🤗🐳

Reading aloud strengthens minds, sparks imagination, and builds confident readers. 🌟

Last February 4, 2026, we celebrated World Read Aloud Day by sharing stories that sparked imagination, encouraged attentive listening, and nurtured a love for reading among our young learners. Through expressive storytelling and shared moments, we were reminded that reading aloud not only improves literacy but also helps build confidence, curiosity, and meaningful connections. 🥰📚

Thank you to everyone who made the day engaging, joyful, and memorable. Special thanks to the students of Caduhaan National High School for leading the storytelling session and for their creativity and dedication in preparing the props that made the stories interactive and vibrant. 🤗

Let us continue to encourage a love for reading, one story shared aloud at a time. 🐳💖

🎨✨ National Arts Month 2026 ✨🎨

The National Library of the Philippines proudly joins the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) and the entire nation in celebrating National Arts Month 2026 this February, under the theme “Ani ng Sining: Katotohanan at Giting.”

This year’s theme highlights the power of artistic expression in advancing the goals of the Philippine Development Plan for Culture and the Arts and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)—showcasing how the arts nurture truth, courage, peace, and inclusive development.

Under Presidential Proclamation No. 683, National Arts Month (NAM) is annually celebrated during the month of February. This month-long celebration aims to promote and showcase the country’s rich cultural heritage, highlighting the artistic talents of Filipinos and providing opportunities for artists to express their creativity.

🌟 A meaningful way to end LISM and National Book Week: spending our day with the amazing faculty, staff, and students of Vicente Patricio Memorial Elementary School last November 28, 2025. 🤩

We enjoyed storytelling, film showing, arts and crafts, and wrapped the day with gift-giving that made the day truly unforgettable. 🥰📚🎞️🖍️

Cadiz City Public Library’s Outreach Program at BJMP–Cadiz City, in celebration of the 35th Library and Information Services Month with the theme LACE UP (Libraries — A Hub for Cultural Exploration and Unity through Partnerships), held last November 21, 2025.

At BJMP Cadiz, we saw how stories, creativity, and learning can build bridges in places people don’t usually think about. The participants shared their art, their thoughts, their humor, and reminded us that they still have so much to contribute to the community. 💝

A heartfelt thank you to the City Government of Cadiz for making this event possible and to the members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod for always supporting our initiatives. We’re grateful to City Vice Mayor Hon. John Vincent Escalante and City Councilors Hon. Frances Guanzon, Hon. Lalen Lamis, Hon. Kathrina Gustilo, and Hon. Claire Consing for joining us. 🐳💗

This celebration brought together hearts and hands in honoring the Ata Indigenous People of Negros — their stories, traditions, and enduring connection to the land that continues to shape our shared identity. 🙌

We extend our deepest appreciation to the Ata community of Sitio Manara for their warm welcome and generosity in sharing their time and heritage with us. Through this outreach, we are reminded that recognizing our indigenous communities is not just a yearly event, but a continuing commitment to inclusivity, respect, and cultural preservation. These moments of learning and unity strengthen the bridge between heritage and progress for all Negrenses. 🤗
