WORK IMMERSION & JOINT DELIVERY VOUCHER PROGRAM ORIENTATION AND CEREMONIAL MOA SIGNING

The PWD Affairs Office (PDAO) proudly participated in the Work Immersion & Joint Delivery Voucher Program Orientation and Ceremonial Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) Signing with DepEd Cadiz City.
Representing the PWD Affairs Office (PDAO) were Ms. Justin Joyce and Ms. Annalo Ocura, who took part in this meaningful partnership aimed at strengthening opportunities for learners and promoting inclusive, collaborative programs within the community.
This partnership reflects our shared commitment to education, skills development, inclusion, and empowerment, creating pathways where every learner—including persons with disabilities—can have greater opportunities to learn, participate, and contribute.
Together, we build partnerships that create opportunities and a more inclusive community for all.

🦽 SEPTEMBER: SPINAL CORD INJURY AWARENESS MONTH

This September, let us raise awareness about Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) and stand with individuals who are living with spinal cord injuries.
A spinal cord injury can change a person’s mobility, independence, and daily life—but it should never limit their dignity, dreams, rights, and participation in society.
Let us promote: 🤝 Understanding — Know the realities and challenges faced by people with SCI.

♿ Accessibility — Build communities where everyone can move, work, learn, and participate.
💪 Rehabilitation — Support access to appropriate healthcare, therapy, assistive devices, and opportunities for recovery.
❤️ Inclusion — See the person beyond the disability and create equal opportunities for all.
🗣️ Empowerment — Listen to and amplify the voices of people with disabilities.
Disability does not define a person’s potential.

GENDER AND DEVELOPMENT (GAD) ORIENTATION SEMINAR & MOA RE-SIGNING

The PWD Affairs Office (PDAO), together with Philippine Normal University–Visayas (PNU-Visayas) and other valued partners, successfully conducted a Gender and Development (GAD) Orientation Seminar and the re-signing of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), reaffirming our shared commitment to inclusion, equality, empowerment, and meaningful participation.
The GAD Orientation served as an opportunity to deepen our understanding of gender sensitivity, respect, equal opportunities, and the importance of creating an environment where everyone—regardless of gender, disability, or social status—is treated with dignity and respect.
The re-signing of the MOA strengthens the partnership between PNU-Visayas, PDAO, and other stakeholders in advancing programs and initiatives that promote the rights, welfare, development, and empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) and the wider community.
This partnership is more than a document—it is a commitment to work together, build stronger communities, and create opportunities where no one is left behind.
Together, let us continue to promote Gender and Development, Disability Inclusion, and Empowerment through meaningful partnerships and collective action.

As we observe National Epilepsy Awareness Week, September 1–7, 2026, and Cerebral Palsy Awareness and Protection Week, September 16–22, 2026, let us come together to promote understanding, acceptance, protection, and inclusion of persons with epilepsy and cerebral palsy.

These observances remind us that awareness leads to understanding, understanding leads to acceptance, and acceptance creates a more inclusive community.

Let us break the stigma, challenge misconceptions, support families and caregivers, and ensure that every person—regardless of disability—has the opportunity to participate, contribute, and live with dignity.

Today, PDAO Staff together with UPDA Federation Officers held our Devotional & Monthly Meeting. We started with a wonderful devotional led by Sir Al James Madrid. filling our hearts with strength, hope, and renewed purpose. Followed by productive discussions where important agendas, plans, and concerns were thoroughly shared and addressed.
