July 14, 2026 || The Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (COCPO), under the leadership of PCOL DEXTER G PAJE, City Director, participated in the Launch of the Northern Mindanao Road Safety Action Plan (NMRSAP) 2026–2030 held at the 4th Floor, Function Hall, Pearlmont Hotel, Cagayan de Oro City.

The activity, spearheaded by the Department of Health – Center for Health Development Northern Mindanao headed by Dr. Sulpicio Henry M. Legaspi Jr., Director IV, gathered representatives from national government agencies, local government units, the private sector, and partner stakeholders to strengthen a unified approach in reducing road traffic crashes and promoting safer roads throughout the region.

Representing COCPO was PMAJ SABINO B. LABITAD, Assistant Chief, CCADU. In support of the activity, COCPO personnel conducted an Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) drive by distributing road safety information materials and engaging participants through PSSg Higalang Pulis, emphasizing the importance of responsible road use and public awareness.

This initiative is also in line with the celebration of the 31st Police Community Relations (PCR) Month this July 2026, carrying the theme: "Sa Bagong Pilipinas, Ugnayang Pulis at Mamamayan; Tapat, Maaasahan, at Nararamdaman ng Bayan." Through continuous information dissemination and community engagement, COCPO remains committed to building safer communities through strong partnerships with the public.

Road safety is everyone's responsibility. Whether you are a driver, passenger, cyclist, pedestrian, or commuter, every decision made on the road can save lives. Together, let us uphold discipline, respect traffic laws, and work hand in hand toward achieving safer roads for every Filipino.

July 14, 2026 | The Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (COCPO), under the leadership of PCOL DEXTER G PAJE, City Director, in partnership with the Explosive Ordnance Disposal and Canine (EOD/K9) Group, successfully conducted a Symposium on Bomb Awareness and Identification, Crime Prevention Tips, Safety Awareness, and Active Shooter Preparedness and Response at Pagatpat National High School, Zone 3, Barangay Pagatpat, Cagayan de Oro City. The COCPO personnel were warmly welcomed by School Principal, Ms. Aileen E. Maghuyop, together with the faculty members and staff.

The symposium was attended by approximately 350 Junior High School and Senior High School students, together with their teachers and advisers. During the activity, participants were equipped with essential knowledge on recognizing bomb threats and suspicious objects, practicing crime prevention measures, enhancing personal and school safety awareness, and responding effectively during active shooter and other emergency situations. The activity also emphasized the importance of vigilance, preparedness, and immediate coordination with authorities to help ensure a safe and secure school environment.

This activity is also in line with the 31st Police Community Relations (PCR) Month celebration throughout July 2026, carrying this year's theme: "Sa Bagong Pilipinas, Ugnayang Pulis at Mamamayan; Tapat, Maaasahan, at Nararamdaman ng Bayan."

COCPO remains steadfast in its commitment to fostering safer communities by strengthening partnerships with educational institutions and empowering the youth through proactive information and public safety awareness programs.

CAMP ALAGAR, Cagayan de Oro City – Police Regional Office 10 successfully seized a total of PhP17,306,981.00 worth of contrabands from various illegal activities and arrested 196 individuals during its one-week law enforcement operation from July 2 to 8, 2026, across the region.
In its intensified anti-illegal drugs campaign, PRO10 conducted 67 operations that resulted in the arrest of 78 individuals and the seizure of 305.08 grams of shabu with an estimated Standard Drug Price of PhP2,074,544.00.
PRO10 also conducted five operations on the campaign against illegal gambling that resulted in the arrest of five individuals and confiscation of PhP917.00 worth of illegal gambling items.
In neutralizing wanted persons, a total of 74 wanted individuals were apprehended, including 21 Most Wanted Persons and 53 Other Wanted Persons.
In the battle against loose fi****ms (Kontra Boga), PRO10 conducted 22 operations, resulting in the arrest of four individuals and the confiscation/surrender/recovery of 21 small arms and one light weapon.
Furthermore, 12 operations conducted against illegal mining resulted in the arrest of 19 individuals and the confiscation of items valued at approximately PhP13,229,120.00.
PRO 10 also carried out 27 successful operations against smuggling ci******es, which led to the arrest of 16 individuals and the seizure of contraband worth PhP2,002,400.00.

July 2026 | Personnel of the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (COCPO), under the leadership of PCOL DEXTER G PAJE, City Director, joined the Flag Raising Ceremony in various schools across Cagayan de Oro City as part of the continuing effort to strengthen the relationship between the Philippine National Police and the youth.

More than attending a ceremony, this activity allows students to personally interact with police officers in a friendly and positive environment. COCPO hopes to inspire confidence among learners so they will see the police not as someone to fear, but as trusted protectors and partners they can approach whenever they need help or guidance.

This initiative is also an opportunity to change the long-standing perception where children are often frightened by statements such as, "Sumbong tika sa pulis." Instead, we encourage parents and guardians to help children understand that the police are always ready to protect, guide, and serve them.
