Upcoming farm-to-market roads (FMRs) are set to move forward in Region 10 as the Department of Agriculture โ Philippine Rural Development Project (DA-PRDP) awarded a total of five No Objection Letter 1 (NOL 1) approvals on May 18, in Metro Manila, Philippines.
In Northern Mindanao, the province of Bukidnon secured four road subprojects, while Misamis Occidental received one FMR subproejct, with a combined estimated project cost of Php 881 million.
These are the FMR subprojects awarded with NOL 1 along with their estimated project costs:
1. Construction of Malinao to Imbariz FMR - Kalilangan, Bukidnon - Php 127,252,000.00
2. Concreting of Junction Barangay Guinoyuran Provincial Road - Sitio Migtulod, Barangay Mt. Nebo FMR - City of Valencia, Bukidnon - Php 209,105,000.00
3. Concreting of Landing - Lusot - Magsaysay - Del Pilar Farm-to-Market Road - Province of Misamis Occidental - Php 150,549,511.95
4. Concreting of Sitio Cacawon, Kilasihan - Purok 2 Kangay, Capuitan Juan - Purok 4 to 5 Katiguman - Purok 6 Pinamanguhan, Capitan Juan - Block 2 Kaatuan Farm to Market Road - Lantapan, Bukidnon - Php 257,663,000.00
5. Concreting of Balila Proper, Sitio Gahub to Purok 5, Kaatuan Farm-to-Market Road - Lantapan, Bukidnon - Php 136,587,000.00
The ceremonial awarding of the NOL 1 approvals was led by DA Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel Jr. together with Undersecretary for Operations Engr. Roger V. Navarro.
Receiving the NOL 1 approvals were DA-10 Regional Executive Director and Regional Project Coordination Office (RPCO) 10 Project Director Jose Apollo Y. Pacamalan, along with representatives from the recipient LGUs. They are also joined by PRDP Mindanao Project Director Macario D. Gonzaga and Deputy Project Director Carlene C. Collado.
With the issuance of NOL 1, the local government units concerned will undergo procurement training jointly conducted by the Project Support Office Mindanao and the RPCO.
Through the DA-PRDP, the government continues to support the development of climate-resilient and market-oriented rural infrastructure aimed at improving farm accessibility, boosting agricultural productivity, and increasing economic opportunities for farming communities. #
