𝗕𝗔𝗕𝗔𝗟𝗔! 𝗠𝗮𝗴-𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗮𝘁 𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗮𝗻 𝘀𝗮 𝗺𝗴𝗮 𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶 𝗮𝘄𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗮𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗻𝗮𝗴-𝗮𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗸 𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝗯𝗶𝘀𝘆𝗼 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮 𝘀𝗮 𝗦𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 𝘀𝗮 𝗞𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗮

Pinaalalahanan ng Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) ang mga lokal na pamahalaan (LGUs) na kalahok sa Seasonal Workers Program (SWP) ng Republic of Korea na mag-ingat sa mga hindi awtorisadong kumpanya at indibidwal na nag-aalok ng serbisyo o partnership para sa recruitment, training, at deployment ng mga aplikanteng nais magtrabaho bilang seasonal workers sa South Korea.

Sa Advisory No. 54, Series of 2026, binigyang-diin ng DMW na mahigpit na ipinagbabawal ang paggamit ng mga broker sa recruitment at deployment ng seasonal workers. Nilinaw rin ng ahensya na walang pribadong kumpanya sa Korea ang awtorisadong magsagawa o mag-facilitate ng sisterhood o twinning agreements sa pagitan ng mga local government units sa Pilipinas at South Korea para sa pagpapatupad ng Seasonal Workers Program. Tanging ang Korea Agency of Education, Promotion and Information Service in Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (EPIS) ang kinikilalang "Central Government Agency Specialized in the Seasonal Worker Program" ng pamahalaan ng South Korea.

"Ito ay mahalagang paalala sa ating mga LGUs na bahagi ng Seasonal Workers Program sa Korea na huwag makipag-ugnayan sa mga hindi awtorisadong kumpanya o indibidwal para masiguro natin ang kapakanan at proteksyon ng ating mga Pilipinong seasonal workers ayon sa ating mga regulasyon na itinakda patungkol sa overseas employment," pahayag ni Department of Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Leo J. Cacdac alinsunod sa tagulibilin ng Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. na bigyan ng proteksyon ang mga OFW. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, former overseas Filipino worker Michael Gabriel Angel returned to Talakag, Bukidnon after spending years building his career in graphic design in Singapore and serving as a working student in Australia.

With support from the Department of Migrant Workers, Angel was able to turn cacao from the family farm into Sa Kabukiran Tableya Manufacturing, a flourishing business that allows him to make full use of his digital skills, local resources, and community support to grow a new livelihood.

𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐇𝐎𝐓𝐎𝐒 | On September 2, Attorney IV Francis Andrew Paduganan represented the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) Region 10 at the Serbisyo Caravan Para sa Katawhan: A Whole-of-Government Convergence in Tikalaan, Talakag, Bukidnon.

The caravan brought together 20 government agencies to deliver accessible and responsive services directly to communities.

Atty. Paduganan provided services, programs, and assistance to migrant workers, aspiring overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), and their families.

DMW Region 10 reaffirmed its commitment to protecting migrant workers and engaging with the communities they serve.

Hinarap ni Mayflor Mano ang mabigat na desisyong pauwiin ang kanyang asawa, si Arnold, isang OFW mula sa Dubai, sa gitna ng kanyang pagkakasakit na sinabayan pa ng mga pagsubok na dulot ng kaguluhan sa Middle East. Sa kabila ng kanyang takot, pinili niyang unahin ang kaligtasan at pagpapagaling ng kanyang asawa.

Sa tulong ng Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) 10, nakatanggap ang pamilya ng AKSYON Fund, isang pondo na magagamit para sa paggamot at pagpapalakas ni Arnold, at pagsisimula ng kanilang negosyo habang hindi pa siya nakakabalik sa pagtrabaho.

Patuloy ang DMW Region 10 sa pagbibigay ng suporta at kalinga sa mga OFWs at kanilang pamilya habang dumaraan sila sa mabibigat na pagsubok upang matulungan silang makabangon, magpatuloy, at magkaroon ng pag-asa para sa hinaharap.

After returning to the Philippines from a difficult experience as an overseas Filipino worker (OFW) in Kuwait, Wilma Samong Bacunhao used a P20,000 livelihood grant to start over – this time as an entrepreneur in Jasaan, Misamis Oriental.

Bacunhao, a former massage therapist in Kuwait, returned home after an ordeal that led her to seek assistance at an embassy shelter. Classified as a distressed worker, she received livelihood assistance from the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) and the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW).

That assistance became the starting capital for WellSmile Pizzarap, a small food business that has since expanded its reach to customers and establishments in parts of Northern Mindanao.

Sa gitna ng pagkawala ng kanyang asawa, at pag-ako ng responsibilidad bilang solong magulang sa dalawang anak, muling nakahanap ng pag-asa si Maricel Pepito na mataguyod ang pamilya sa pamamagitan ng Agarang Kalinga at Saklolo para sa mga OFWs na Nangangailangan o AKSYON Fund Program ng Department of Migrant Workers (DMW).

Sa tulong ng programa, nabigyan siya ng pagkakataong mapalago ang kanyang negosyo at masuportahan ang edukasyon at pang-araw-araw na pangangailangan ng kanyang dalawang anak.

Ang DMW Region 10 ay patuloy na nagsusumikap na makapaghatid ng suporta at kalinga sa pamilya ng mga OFWs na dumaraan sa matinding pagsubok dahil sa kanilang pagkakasakit o pagkamatay, upang bigyan sila ng pag-asa at magandang kinabukasan sa gitna ng kanilang pangangailangan.

Their legacy serves as a reminder that heroism can be found not only in historical accounts, but in our everyday acts of courage, sacrifice and dedicated service to the Filipino people.
