A successful launch of our 90-Day Supplementary Feeding Program for Malnourished Children was held today at the Poblacion Covered Court.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Indahag Barangay Council led by our ever supportive Barangay Chairman Hon. Marlon Fidel D. Bongay Jr. with Hon. Melitona B. Patriana, Committee Chair on Health, for their unwavering support, together with our dedicated Barangay Health Workers (BHWs) who continue to work hand in hand for the welfare of our children.

To help ensure the success of the program, our Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS) demonstrated the sample menu and guided the mothers on the proper preparation and cooking of the feeding supplies. Through this, we hope to equip parents with the knowledge and skills needed to provide nutritious meals that will support their children's healthy growth and development.

Together, let us nourish our children, strengthen our families, and build a healthier Barangay Indahag. ❤️

🌱TREE PLANTING ACTIVITY | July 18, 2026 | Nutrition Month 2026💚

As part of the 2026 Nutrition Month Celebration, the Barangay Nutrition Committee of Barangay Indahag successfully conducted a Tree Planting Activity at Sto. Niño, Indahag at 6:00 AM today. This activity was led by Hon. Marlon Fidel D. Bongay Jr., Barangay Chairman, together with Hon. John Floyd Labiano, SK Chairman, in support of this year's Nutrition Month theme:

"Nutrisyon at Kalikasan, Ating Pangalagaan."

The activity highlights the importance of environmental stewardship as an essential component of promoting nutrition, health, and sustainable community development.

The Barangay Nutrition Committee expresses its sincere appreciation and gratitude to all stakeholders, volunteers, participants, and partner organizations whose invaluable support and active participation contributed to the successful implementation of this activity.

Together, let us continue working hand in hand in protecting our environment and promoting a healthier, greener, and more resilient Barangay Indahag.

The Barangay successfully conducted the Barangay First 1000 Days (BF1KD) Recognition Ceremony on June 29, 2026, recognizing the 15 participants who successfully completed the BF1KD classes. Certificates of Completion and give-aways were awarded in recognition of their commitment to maternal, infant, and young child nutrition.
The ceremony was attended by Punong Barangay Hon. Marlon Fidel D. Bongay Jr., Committee Chair on Health Hon. Melitona B. Patriana, CNPC Mary Trissha L. Granados, NDP Clare Ann V. Repulo, the OJT students from Lourdes College, Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS), and Barangay Health Workers (BHW).

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Barangay Council headed by our Punong Barangay Hon. Marlon Fidel D. Bongay Jr. for their unwavering support and commitment, which greatly contributed to the successful implementation of the BF1KD Program. BF1KD Session 13 Successfully Conducted!

The final session of the Barangay First 1,000 Days (BF1KD) Classes, entitled "Paglaki ay Bantayan, Malnutrisyon Kaagad na Aksyunan!", was successfully conducted on June 29, 2026 at P2 Habitat Multi- Purpose Bldg. with 15 participants in attendance.

Facilitated by Hilda Mangumpit with Julieta Labiano as co-facilitator, the session emphasized the importance of regular growth monitoring to detect early signs of malnutrition and ensure children are growing according to their age. Parents and caregivers were encouraged to practice proper child feeding, monitor their children's growth regularly, and seek timely consultation with health workers when needed.

The activity marked the successful completion of the **13-session Barangay First 1,000 Days (BF1KD) Classes**. A post-test was also administered to assess the participants' knowledge and understanding of the lessons covered throughout the program.

💚 Together, we continue building healthier mothers, healthier children, and a healthier Barangay Indahag.

BF1KD Session 12: Pagbibigay ng Vitamin A at Pagpupurga.
June 26, 2026/ P2 Habitat Multi-Purpose Bldg., Cagayan de Oro City.

The session was successfully conducted and facilitated by Julieta Q. Labiano with Hilda B. Mangumpit as co-facilitator with 15 participants.
It emphasized the importance of Vitamin A supplementation as an essential micronutrient for promoting healthy vision, strengthening the immune system, and supporting the overall growth and development of children aged 6-59 mos. old.
Participants also learned about the importance of deworming, which is recommended twice a year for children aged 1–19 yr. old, to help prevent intestinal worm infections, improve nutrient absorption, and support optimal growth and health.

The session was facilitated by Hilda Mangumpit, together with Julieta Q. Labiano, as co-facilitator with 12 participants in attendance.
It emphasized the importance of complementary feeding starting at six months of age while continuing breastfeeding. Participants learned the appropriate amount, frequency, and consistency of food to be given based on the child's age to support healthy growth and development.
Interactive games were also conducted to reinforce the key messages and encourage active participation throughout the session.

BF1KD Session 10: "Mag-Ekspres Tayo!" was successfully conducted on June 19, 2026, with 16 participants in attendance. The session was facilitated by Hilda Mangumpit and Julieta Labiano as the co-facilitator.
The discussion focused on the proper hand expression of breast milk, including the correct hand technique, safe collection, proper storage, and handling of expressed breast milk. Participants gained practical knowledge and skills to help them continue providing breast milk to their babies, even when they are away from home or returning to work.

The Indahag Barangay Nutrition Committee headed by our ever-supportive and energetic Punong Barangay 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗹𝗼𝗻 𝗙𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗹 𝗗. 𝗕𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗮𝘆 Jr., Our Committee Chair on Health Kagawad 𝗠𝗲𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗮 𝗕. 𝗣𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗮 and Co-Chair on Health Kagawad 𝗔𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗥. 𝗟𝗮𝗿𝗼𝗻 together with the Barangay Nutrition Scholars actively joined the 52nd Nutrition Month Kick-Off Activity.
The activity began at 4:00 AM with an energizing Zumba, followed by a 4-kilometer Walkathon to promote an active and healthy lifestyle. A short opening program was then held to reaffirm the commitment to improving nutrition and encouraging environmental stewardship. The event concluded with a Tree Planting Activity, symbolizing our shared responsibility to nurture both healthy communities and a healthy environment.
Together, let us continue working toward a healthier, greener, and more resilient Barangay Indahag.

The session was facilitated by BHW Julieta Q. Labiano, with BNS Hilda Mangumpit serving as the co-facilitator. The activity was successfully carried out with the support and participation of the Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS) and the 12 participants in attendance.
We are also grateful for the presence of our ever-supportive CNPC, Mary Trissha L. Granados, together with the Lourdes College students, who also assisted in the conduct of the session. Their support and active participation greatly contributed to the success of the activity.
