Philippine Festivals and P-POP Take Center Stage in the 10th Araw ng Camaman-an

Barangay Camaman-an comes alive with culture, music, and creativity as it celebrates its 10th Araw ng Camaman-an through the Philippine Festivals Competition and P-POP Evolution Showdown, in line with the celebration of its 11th Kasadya Festival.

The event, led by Barangay Captain Carl Harrison “Boddie” Galarrita together with the Barangay Council and the SK Council headed by Thonie Ann Agbon Cubillan, brings together talented performers and young artists in a showcase of Filipino traditions and modern pop culture.

Through colorful festival-inspired performances and P-POP presentations, the celebration highlights the importance of preserving culture while giving the community a platform to express their talent, creativity, and passion.

The City Tourism and Cultural Affairs Office, led by Mx. The Creative Economy and the Future of Regional Innovation

Panagtigum 2026: Mapping the Creative Ecosystem gathers creatives, cultural advocates, innovators, government agencies, and private partners in a collaborative effort to strengthen the creative industries of Northern Mindanao.

Tourism Monitoring Initiative Conducted Across Key CDO Establishments

The City Tourism and Cultural Affairs Office, through its Standards, Regulation, and Training (SRT) Division, conducts today, May 6, 2026, a monitoring and inspection of primary tourism enterprises across the city—including MICE facilities (convention centers and venues), accommodation establishments, travel and tour operators, resorts, and other related facilities.

The activity is led by SRT Division Head Atty. Spencer P. P***n, together with SRT Division personnel and staff from the Planning, Research, Statistics, and Product Development Division. This initiative forms part of the office’s continuing mandate to uphold tourism standards, ensure regulatory compliance, and promote service excellence among local tourism stakeholders.

Under the leadership of Acting Tourism Officer Mark Kenneth Jalapadan, the office reaffirms its commitment to maintaining Cagayan de Oro as a tourist-friendly destination—one that prioritizes safety, quality service, and adherence to established tourism regulations.
