🎶 BATTLE OF THE BANDS: Reggae Edition
📌 Mechanics
📍ELIGIBILITY
- Open only for residents of Kinoguitan.
- Each band must consist of at least 3 members and a maximum of 8 members.
📍PERFOMANCE RULES
- Each band must perform 2 reggae songs:
- 1 cover song (from any reggae artist).
- 1 original composition OR another reggae cover of their choice.
- Maximum performance time: 12 minutes per band (including set-up and exit).
- Strictly live performance only – no minus one, pre-recorded tracks, or auto-tune.
📍STAGE RULES
- Standard drum set will be provided by the organizers.
- Bands are responsible for their own instruments (guitars, bass, keyboards, etc.).
- Soundcheck schedule will be given prior to the competition.
- Bands must be ready when called; failure to perform within 5 minutes will result in disqualification.
📍CONDUCT
- No offensive language, obscene gestures, or inappropriate attire during performance.
- Respect towards other participants, judges, organizers, and the audience is strictly required.
📍JUDGING
- A panel of qualified judges will evaluate each performance.
- The decision of the judges is final and irrevocable.

🏆 CRITERIA FOR JUDGING
Criteria-Percentage-Description
Musicality & Technical Skill - 30%
Rhythm, timing, harmony, and overall mastery of instruments and vocals.
Reggae Authenticity - 25%
How well the band captures the reggae vibe: groove, offbeat rhythm, style, and feel of reggae music.
Originality & Creativity - 20%
Arrangement, improvisation, uniqueness, especially for original compositions.
Stage Presence & Showmanship - 15%
Confidence, audience connection, energy, and overall entertainment value.
Overall Impact - 10%
General impression, audience engagement, and consistency of performance.
