Held at Bethany Gardens, Ozamiz City, the activity successfully gathered participants for PelikulAgraryo from partner institutions in support of SPLIT Project for CY 2026.
PCAO Lita T. Torres delivered the opening remarks and emphasized that the initiative aims to raise awareness about DARโs services. Through PelikulAgraryo, young storytellers are given a platform to use their creativity and voice to promote social awareness, community empowerment, and positive change.
With this, in his message, Rolando M. Libetario Jr., CPA, PARPO II of Department of Agrarian Reform Misamis Occidental, gave encouraging words to the provinceโs representatives and expressed his full support to the partner institutions. He emphasized that with strong collaboration, guidance, and commitment, they can deliver quality and meaningful outputs for Pelikulagraryo that truly reflect the stories, struggles, and successes of agrarian reform beneficiaries in the province.
Through a pre-recorded video message, Regional Director Zoraida O. Macadindang, Al-Hadj, JD, shares her message encouraging the youth to take an active role in shaping the future of agrarian communities by using filmmaking as a powerful platform to tell the inspiring stories of Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries. She invites everyone to join PelikulAgraryo with creativity, passion, and excellence, and assures them of the Department of Agrarian Reformโs full support and belief in their potential to create films that inspire change and bring pride to the region.
The program featured comprehensive and detailed overviews of the mandates of the Department of Agrarian Reform. The Land Tenure Security Program was presented by OIC-PARPO I Danilo M. Pilar, while Legal Services was discussed by Legal Division Chief Atty. Adriano Bahian, Jr.. The Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Development and Sustainability Program was presented by CARPO Kareen Mae M. Espiga, CPA. In addition, Youth Engagement initiatives designed to strengthen participation and collaboration were presented by Regional Information Officer Wilfredo P. Hisona, Jr..
Facilitators or representatives of the academic institutions from La Salle University - Ozamiz, USTP - Panaon Campus, and Northwestern Mindanao State College of Acience and Technology also conveyed their messages of commitment and support for the initiative, reaffirming their willingness to collaborate closely with the Department of Agrarian Reform Misamis Occidental. During the open forum, the participantsโ eagerness was evident as they shared ideas and expressed their strong desire to produce the best possible film in collaboration with DAR Misamis Occidental. The active exchange of insights and enthusiasm from all stakeholders reflected the positive outcome of the forum and set a promising direction for PelikulAgraryo.
In his call-to-action, DAR SPLIT Media Writer Peter Ariel Acasio emphasized that DAR Misamis Occidental is fully committed to assisting and supporting the students every step of the way, from conceptualization to production and assuring that the department will provide guidance, resources, and mentorship to help bring their vision to life and make a meaningful impact on their communities.
With DARโs guidance and support from the forum, the participants are equipped to turn their creativity into meaningful films that reflect real experiences and community impact. The event highlighted collaboration, learning, and enthusiasm, setting a positive foundation for the next steps in PelikulAgraryo.
