Grade 12 Fr Masterson class offered a mass on the eve of the death anniversary of Fr Masterson. The class also visited his grave site inside the Basic Ed Campus and offered prayers and flowers for him.

Fr William Masterson SJ was a visionary who was responsible of purchasing the land where Ateneo de Manila University is now and the Manresa Farm of Xavier University which soon to rise the Xavier University Campus of the Future.

September 2, 2024, the SHS had its first class sponsored mass at the St Aloysius Gonzaga Chapel for the school year.

The mass was celebrated by the new chaplain of the Basic Ed, Fr Roseller L Atilano SJ.

The mass was also sponsored by Gr 12 Fr Aimerich and Gr 12 Fr Bouvet with their respective moderators, Ms Janelle Lou Galamiton and Mr Crispin Ticon.

Regular masses at the SHS Chapel are held from Monday to Friday at 1:00 in the afternoon.
We invite the SHS Community to join the mass daily.

XUSHS Formation members convene for its 1st Monthly Formation Council Meeting for SY 2024-2025.

XUSHS held it's Formation Fair 2024 in August 5-6, 2024 at the SHS Covered Courts.

The FF2024 was timed with the Schola Brevis which oriented both Juniors and Seniors of the various Formation units and programs, guidelines and policies.

Many thanks to Ms Cheeney Baula, PTC Moderator, the Parents Teachers Confederated, Ms Jessa Joyce Tamiok and the SHSG reps including the DATA team.

XUSHS hosted the meeting of members of the International Justice Mission Westpac 2.0: Network of Care (NOC) on August 2, 2024 at the SHS Library Lecture Space. SHS Building, XU Basic Education Campus in Cagayan de Oro City.

The IJM NOC is a group of professionals from various national and local government units, non-government, and academic sectors providing assistance to survivors of online sexual abuse and exploitation of children (OSAEC).

Some 50 representatives from throughout Region X joined the conference. Xavier University was represented by VP Basic Education Dr Pamela Q Pajente, SHS Principal Dr Rogelio L Gawahan, ALGCIT Director Oliva E Lim, Assistant Principals Mitos E Ycong, Jeffrey F Tumampos, Eric Jose S Rudinas and PTAS Officer Marycris A Go.

The 1-day affair was highlighted with a recap of the NOC's Action Plan, an Orientation of the NOC, Presentation of the Westpac 2.0 and Scale of Harm, Best Practices and Ways Forward.

XUSHS intends to create its own multi-disciplinary task force from within its ranks, recruit additional members from JHS and GS, and to promote awareness of OSAEC within the entire XU Basic Education community.

The Formation Fair is a subsequent activity of the Formation Council following the Schola Brevis of the students of the beginning of the school year. It is an orientation of the services and guidelines of Formation offices to Grades 11 and 12 students on a 2-day event.

August 5 Grade 11 Formation Fair
- Attendance will be checked using the QR codes provided to them during the ORSEM event. Scanning will take place at the covered court entrance.
-Students with no QR codes will have to sign up for a separate attendance sheet.
-Grade 11 Moderators will accompany their students.

August 6 Grade 12 Formation Fair
-Attendance will be checked using their ID barcodes. Scanning will take place at the covered court entrance.
-Grade 12 Moderators will accompany their students.

Xavier University Senior High School prepares for School Year 2024-2025 with INSET weeks starting with the Ignatian Spirituality in Education Workshop on July 9-11, 2024. Day 1 was held at the XUSHS Campus. The talks centered on Collaboration between the lay and the Jesuit mission of education.
