PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT: SUSPENSION OF CLASSES, EXTENDED TOMORROW

In consideration of the residents who evacuated and are affected by inland flooding in Cagayan de Oro due to TD Verbena, Mayor Rolando “Klarex” Uy has ordered the extension of the suspension of classes for all primary and secondary levels, both public and private, tomorrow, November 25.

For tertiary level, suspension will be at the discretion of university/school heads.

Inaprubahan ni Pangulong Bongbong Marcos at ng Economy and Development (ED) Council ang Project for Learning Upgrade Support and Decentralization o PLUS-D.

Ito ay isang pambansang inisyatiba sa edukasyon na layuning tugunan ang learning losses at bigyan ng mas malaking kapangyarihan ang mga rehiyon at paaralan sa pagpapatupad ng mga reporma.

Ayon kay Undersecretary for Strategic Management Ronald Mendoza, sa pamamagitan ng PLUS-D mapalalakas ang implementasyon ng mga reporma sa edukasyon sa bansa.

Emerging school leaders across Northern Mindanao were honored during the Recognition and Induction Ceremony of Project: CELLS Completers (NQESH Passers) held on October 31, 2025, at Limketkai Luxe Hotel, Cagayan de Oro City. The event brought together NQESH passers, Project: CELLS completers, resource speakers, class advisers, and regional education leaders in a meaningful gathering that recognized leadership excellence and professional growth across Northern Mindanao.

Regional Director Dr. Arturo B. Bayocot, CESO III, led the conferment of sablays symbolizing the completers’ readiness to lead with integrity and purpose. The ceremony, enriched by inspiring messages from DepEd officials and heartfelt testimonies from the honorees, reaffirmed the Region’s commitment to developing empowered, values-driven, and future-ready school leaders across Northern Mindanao.

PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT:

[UPDATED] Mayor Uy is set to issue an order suspending classes at the primary and secondary levels, both public and private. For the tertiary level, suspension will be at the discretion of the school heads.

The suspension will take effect starting this afternoon (1PM) until the whole day tomorrow, November 4.

This comes following the issuance of Signal No. 1 over Misamis Oriental and the forecast of rain starting at around 2:00 PM today. Details to follow. (Text by A.CIO, Jade Adeser)
