Look: In compliance with CPCG’s directive regarding ICARE Program—mandating 100% BLS-trained PCG personnel—Nursing Service Sub-Unit Northern Mindanao together with CGDNM personnel successfully conducted three (3) batches of Basic Life Support with AED training. An additional seventy-seven (77) personnel are now BLS trained, empowering them to be immediate and effective first aid responders in life threatening emergencies.

This achievement was made possible by the dedicated support of Coast Guard District Northern Mindanao and, demonstrating their commitment to leveling up the capability of every personnel. This initiative ensures each one is ready, knowledgeable, and skilled, reflecting PCG’s unwavering pursuit of continuous progress and operational excellence.

LOOK: NSSU NM, NSSU RTC MISOR, and MEDS NM personnel successfully conducted two (2) batches of the two-day Basic Life Support (BLS) with Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Training last 26-27 August and 01-02 September 2025 for fifty-two.(52) participants from the CGISTSC Cl 03-2025

This vital training equipped each participants with the foundational skills to respond effectively to medical emergencies such as cardiac arrest and foreign body airway obstruction. The program emphasized immediate action and the proper use of life-saving equipment.

The integration of BLS and AED proficiencies is a force multiplier, enhancing the first-responder capabilities of all personnel. These skills are not merely theoretical; they are practical, mission-critical assets that empower individuals to preserve life and mitigate casualties in any operational environment.

We extend our commendation to all participants for their discipline and commitment throughout the training. Your newly acquired skills are a testament to our collective readiness and a significant contribution to the safety and well-being of our community.

LOOK: Through the initiative and support of Coast Guard District Northern Mindanao (CGDNM), the two-week International Maritime Organization (IMO) Model Course (MC) 6.09 Training Course for Instructors successfully concluded 22 August, 2025.

The crucial training, spearheaded by CGDNM, was held at its Headquarters in Laguindingan, Misamis Oriental, and gathered 22 students from various units, including LTJG LEILANEE F ENDOZO, Chief Nurse, Coast Guard Nursing Service Sub-Unit Northern Mindanao (CGNSSU-NM).

The IMO MC 6.09 training focused on practical exercises and hands-on learning, empowering participants with the competencies to translate theoretical knowledge into effective teaching practices. This initiative is vital for strengthening the instructional capabilities across the district.

Among the accomplished participants, LTJG ENDOZO was recognized for her performance and was awarded as Best Presenter for her final micro-teaching session on busting myths about HIV.

These collective accomplishments are directed towards bracing the competencies of personnel to conduct Troop Information and Education (TI&E) on various matters, ensuring a more prepared and knowledgeable workforce.
