𝐂𝐇𝐄𝐃𝐑𝐎 𝐗 𝐖𝐄𝐋𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐄𝐒 𝐀𝐔𝐃𝐈𝐓 𝐓𝐄𝐀𝐌 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐎𝐍𝐄 𝐂𝐇𝐄𝐃 𝐐𝐌𝐒 | 𝐃𝐀𝐘 𝟏

𝐂𝐀𝐆𝐀𝐘𝐀𝐍 𝐃𝐄 𝐎𝐑𝐎 𝐂𝐈𝐓𝐘 — The Commission on Higher Education Regional Office X (CHEDRO-X) welcomed a four-member audit team on October 12, 2026, for the Day 1 implementation of the One CHED Quality Management System (QMS) Internal Quality Audit.

This Commission-wide initiative aims to harmonize quality management processes across the CHED Central Office and all Regional Offices in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 standards. It aligns directly with the strategic directions of CHED Chairperson Dr. Shirley C. Agrupis under the 𝐀𝐂𝐇𝐈𝐄𝐕𝐄 𝐀𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐚, which emphasizes operational excellence, continual improvement, and consistent, high-quality public service. Through these internal audits, CHED seeks to strengthen regional systems and integrate them into a unified QMS framework.

Led by Audit Team Lead 𝐃𝐫. 𝐌𝐲𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞 𝐅𝐚𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐃. 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐚, along with team members 𝐌𝐫. 𝐌𝐨𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐁. 𝐂𝐚𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐬 𝐉𝐫., 𝐌𝐫. 𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐟𝐞𝐫 𝐂. 𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐝𝐨, and 𝐌𝐬. 𝐉𝐚𝐜𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐀. 𝐆𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐚𝐦𝐞, the auditors evaluated 𝟏𝟏 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝟑𝟗 𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬 during the first day.

Through this engagement, CHEDRO-X reaffirms its commitment to process compliance, continuous organizational growth, and the delivery of quality public service to higher education stakeholders across Region X.

The Commission on Higher Education Regional Office X, through its Local Graduate Scholarship Office, facilitated the 2nd day of the Scholarships for Staff and Instructors’ Knowledge Advancement Program (SIKAP) Guidelines and Portal Orientation for the Region's Delivering Higher Education Institutions (DHEIs) on October 8, 2026, at Mallberry Suites, Cagayan de Oro City.

Participated by scholarship administrators and officers from the nine (9) DHEIs in the Region, the orientation focused on the navigation of the new SIKAP Portal with hands-on data migration workshop.

Through this activity, CHEDRO X continues to support DHEIs in implementing the SIKAP program and facilitating professional development opportunities for academic personnel.

𝐂𝐇𝐄𝐃 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐗 𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝟏𝐬𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐬’ 𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐧 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐨

The CHED Region X, in partnership with the Philippine Coconut Authority Region X, hosted the 1st Scholar’s Summit of the Scholarship Program for Coconut Farmers and their Families (CoScho) on October 7, 2026, at Limketkai Luxe Hotel, Cagayan de Oro City.

Established pursuant to Republic Act No. 11524, or the Coconut Farmers and Industry Trust Fund (CFITF) Act, the CoScho program was created with a clear and noble intent: to provide life-changing educational opportunities to our coconut farmers and their families.

The Summit gathered together 194 CoScho scholars, Coconut Farmers and Industry Development Plan (CFIDP) implementing agencies, and scholarship coordinators from Higher Education Institutions hailing from Region X and BARMM, for a day of inspiration, learning, recognition, and new opportunities.

A major highlight of this gathering is the formal recognition of our CoScho graduates—most notably those who have achieved Latin honors and successfully passed their respective professional licensure examinations. Participants were also engaged in key sessions on financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and career pathways.

The event was more than a celebration of academic achievements. This reinforces the Commission’s ACHIEVE Agenda focusing on human capital development and advancing and expanding life-long learning.

𝐂𝐇𝐄𝐃 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐗 𝐎𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝟏𝟏𝟎 𝐒𝐈𝐊𝐀𝐏 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐂𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐧 𝐝𝐞 𝐎𝐫𝐨 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲

The Commission on Higher Education Regional Office X conducted the Scholars’ Onboarding and Orientation for the Scholarships for Staff and Instructors’ Knowledge Advancement Program (SIKAP) on October 7, 2026, at Mallberry Suites, Cagayan de Oro City, with about 110 scholars from across the Region in attendance.

The activity provided scholars with SIKAP guidelines, implementation processes, and other administrative obligations as they begin or continue their graduate studies. CHEDRO X continues to provide guidance and support to SIKAP scholars as they pursue advanced degrees and fulfill their responsibilities under the program.

The Commission, through the ACHIEVE Agenda, supports the continuing development of higher education personnel in strengthening the quality and qualifications of the Philippine Higher Education workforce towards 2030.

Coconut farmers’ families from Northern Mindanao and Lanao del Sur, BARMM, came together for CHED-10’s first CoScho Scholars’ Summit in Cagayan de Oro City. Beyond earning degrees, scholars are gaining practical knowledge in financial literacy, entrepreneurship and employment — skills that can open doors for their families and communities.

The Commission on Higher Education Regional Office X (CHEDRO X), under the leadership of 𝐃𝐫. 𝐋𝐞𝐨 𝐃. 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐚𝐧𝐨, 𝐂𝐄𝐒𝐄, OIC-Regional Director, joined and supported the successful conduct of the 𝟏𝟒𝐭𝐡 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐥𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐍𝐒𝐓𝐏 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 held on October 1–2, 2026, at Pearlmont Hotel, Cagayan de Oro City.

Anchored on the theme, “NSTP for a Safer and Sustainable Communities: Advancing Climate Action, Community Leadership, and Responsive Service,” the two-day assembly brought together NSTP educators and implementers from Higher Education Institutions across Region X to strengthen collaboration and advance the role of NSTP in disaster preparedness, community resilience, leadership, and responsive public service.

Representing CHEDRO X in support of the activity were 𝐃𝐫. 𝐀𝐫𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐚 𝐀𝐦𝐚𝐩𝐨𝐥𝐚 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐮𝐞𝐳, Chief Education Program Specialist, and 𝐌𝐬. 𝐄𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐲𝐧 𝐒. 𝐐𝐮𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐬, Education Supervisor II and NSTP/ROTC Focal Person. The activity also highlighted the keynote address of Dr. Leo D. Camposano, CESE, emphasizing the vital role of higher education institutions and NSTP implementers in developing socially responsible, resilient, and service-oriented citizens.

The assembly also marked an important milestone for the organization with the oath-taking of the newly appointed officers of the NSTP Educators Association in Region 10 (NEAR-10), Inc., signifying a renewed commitment to leadership, collaboration, and the continued advancement of NSTP implementation throughout Northern Mindanao.

CHEDRO X remains committed to strengthening partnerships with NSTP educators, implementers, government agencies, and stakeholders toward the effective implementation of the National Service Training Program and the development of safer, more resilient, and sustainable communities.
