Consolacion in Cagayan de Oro City. It may have always been perceived as the toughest street in Cagayan de Oro City. It may not be an affluent neighborhood. It may not have been an ideal place to raise childen. But it was where we grew up. It was where we sought inspiration to strive and aim higher in life.We went to market "Sa ilalum sa tulay". (yes, a market place & not necessarily, as many woul
d assume,the river already.) We used to buy treats at Naliponguit's Store or Fuentes' Store and if not then , we went to Mila's store. We knew Consolacion kids as kids coming "from Districts 1-4, from Somil,( saw mill) from Balakanas,from Bag-ong Dalan, taga Iskwelahan and mga taga Village. Most of us, go to church at the Nuestra Señora Virgin del Rosario Chapel. And the first Sunday of October is special. We used play iskate, bulan-bulan,bahug-bahug and bagul-bagul with our playmates. We used to buy pan de sal "ilang Kaharo". The road may have taken us so far, far away from Consolacion..But we are branded .." MGA TAGA CONSOLACION NG MGA BATA-A, OI!
