Marawi Clash Incident Briefer

Location: Marawi City
The total number of IDPs served in the Region has increased to 24,570 families. There are currently 38 evacuation centers housing 2,465 families. The number of home-based families totaled to 22,097.
For the whole province of Lanao del Norte including Iligan City, the total number of IDP families is 21,547. The number of families inside evacuation centers including Iligan City totaled to 2,470 with 11,147 individuals.
For Iligan City alone, the number of IDP families remains at 9,231. There are 798 families sheltered in evacuation centers, while the number of home-based families has remained at 8,433.
In Misamis Oriental, the number of IDP families remains at 2,585, three families of which are staying in the lone evacuation Center in Indahag, Cagayan de Oro City.
In Bukidnon, the number of IDP families has remained at 343 families or 1, 703 individuals who are all home-based or staying with their relatives in the municipalities of Kalilangan, Valencia, Lantapan, Pangantucan and Malaybalay.
In Misamis Occidental, 95 home-based IDP families or 475 individuals have been validated and are temporarily residing in four barangays of Ozamiz City namely: Brgy. Maningcol, Brgy. Tinago, Brgy. San Antonio, and Brgy. Gango.
Total cost of assistance extended to IDPs amounted to P 47,337,937.00 of which P45,470,494 has been extended by DSWD. Breakdown of Cost assistance is P 29,617,574.00 for food and P 15,852,920.00 for non-food assistance.
To date, a total of P 85,579.00 has been released to IDP families who have availed of the transportation assistance or the Balik Probinsiya Program.
The Department of Social Welfare and Development is giving P1,000.00 food assistance for Ramadan to all validated IDPs.
Giving of Food assistance for Ramadan to all IDP families both in the evacuation centers and also for home –based IDPs has already been scheduled. To date, Payout is still ongoing in the municipality of Balo- I particularly in the 11 Evacuation Centers in the municipality.

For Iligan City alone, the total number of IDP families remains at 9,231. There are 798 families sheltered in evacuation centers, while the number of home-based families has remained at 8,433.
In Misamis Oriental, the number of IDP families remains at 2,583, three families of which are staying in the lone evacuation Center in Indahag, Cagayan de Oro City.

Total cost of assistance extended to IDPs amounted to P 43,713,857.00 of which P41,846,414 has been extended by DSWD. Breakdown of Cost assistance is P 27,475,807.00 for food and P 14,370,607.00 for non-food assistance.
Most of the evacuation centers have conjugal room, prayer room, and child and women- friendly spaces.
World Vision, CFSI, DOH, faith-based and other local/international humanitarian Organizations conducted psychosocial activities for women and children.
Department of Health and other humanitarian organizations put up portalets in camps with less toilet outlets.
DSWD-X has been continuously joining the Regional Coordination Command Center meeting along with the Office of Civil Defense, DSWD-ARMM, DOH and other agencies for regular updating, resolution of issues and point of collaboration pertaining to the disaster operation.

The total number of IDPs in Region has reached to 24,413 families. There are currently 37 evacuation centers housing 2,441 families. The number of home-based families totaled to 21,972.

For the whole province of Lanao del Norte including Iligan City, the total number of IDP families is 21,513. The number of families inside evacuation centers including Iligan City totaled to 2,438 with 11,242 individuals.

For Iligan City alone, the number of IDP families remains at 9,248. There are 815 families inside evacuation centers, while the number of home-based families has remained at 8,433.

In Misamis Oriental, the number of IDP families increased to 2,583, three families of which are staying in the lone evacuation Center in Indahag, Cagayan de Oro City.

In Bukidnon, the number of IDP families has remained at 222 or 1,003 individuals who are all home-based or staying with their relatives in the municipalities of Kalilangan, Valencia, Lantapan, and Malaybalay.

Total cost of assistance extended to IDPs amounted to P 26,793,173.00 for food and P 14,287,365.00 for non-food assistance.

Non-food assistance distributed included plastic mats, blankets, laminated sacks/trapal, tents, plastic containers, malongs, mosquito nets, kitchen kits, pails, basins, and hygiene/dignity kits.


DSWD-X has been continuously joining the Regional Coordination Command Center meeting along with the Office of Civil Defense, DSWD-ARMM, DOH and other agencies for regular updating, resolution of issues and point of collaboration pertaining to the disaster operation.
