On June 2, 2026, at Balubal Elementary School, the City Social Welfare and Development Department- Psychosocial Unit (CSWD Psychosocial) extended its support to the Department of Education’s enhanced Learners’ Helpline for Mental Health initiative through the provision of psychosocial screening services for students and their parents, helping identify their psychosocial needs and concerns.

Carrying the theme, “YAKAP at Kalinga Caravan and Audit of DepEd’s Nationwide Mental Hotline and Learner Support System,” the event highlighted the importance of providing accessible, timely, and responsive mental health services for learners through the collaborative efforts of psychosocial workers, mental health practitioners, and partner agencies.

As part of the activity, a total of 69 learners and their parents received psychosocial support and assistance. The initiative demonstrated the value of inter-agency collaboration in promoting the well-being of students and strengthening support systems within schools and communities. Through continued partnerships and advocacy, stakeholders reaffirmed their commitment to fostering safe, inclusive, and nurturing environments where every learner feels heard, supported, empowered, and cared for.

The City Social Welfare and Development Psychosocial Unit (CSWD PSYCHOSOCIAL), in partnership with Mother Theresa Care Center for Children, successfully conducted a meaningful activity under the program “Summer Spark 2026: Play, Learn and Grow.”

As part of the activity, a talk entitled “Mental Health Support Strategies for Children in Residential Centers” was conducted to promote awareness and understanding of the importance of mental health care, emotional support, and positive coping strategies for children in residential settings.

The CSWD Psychosocial Team extends its sincere appreciation to Mother Theresa Care Center for Children and all participants for spearheading this meaningful initiative dedicated to the children’s growth and overall well-being. We also commend everyone for their cooperation, support, and active participation, which greatly contributed to the success of the activity.

The CSWD Psychosocial in partnership with Barangay 34, successfully conducted a Mental Health Seminar entitled “Understanding our Feelings and Well-being” for the barangay constituents.

Held at the Barangay 34 Multi-purpose Hall, the activity was attended by 21 participants and aimed to promote awareness on mental health, emotional well-being, and the importance of self-care within the community.

The CSWD Psychosocial Unit conducted a meaningful session in partnership with the Department of Migrant Workers - Regional Office X during the Financial Awareness Seminar and Psychosocial Orientation held at the DMW Regional Office 10 Building.

With the theme, “Understanding our Feelings and Well-being,” the activity gathered 43 Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) in an engaging discussion focused on emotional awareness, mental health, stress management, and self-care while working and living away from home.

May this initiative continue to remind our modern-day heroes that their mental and emotional well-being matter just as much as their hard work and sacrifices for their families.

The Office of the City Human Resource Management Officer, led by Xsyclyn Faith Lumbatan,RPm successfully conducted a two-day Psychological First Aid and Stress Management Training for the wellness focal persons of various City Hall offices on April 29–30 at the City Tourism Hall.

The training was facilitated by the City Social Welfare and Development Department Psychosocial Unit headed by Rio Rosal Baliling,Rpsy,RPm equipping participants with essential knowledge and practical approaches in providing psychosocial support and promoting mental wellness in the workplace.
