On June 2, 2026, at Balubal Elementary School, the City Social Welfare and Development Department- Psychosocial Unit (CSWD Psychosocial) extended its support to the Department of Education’s enhanced Learners’ Helpline for Mental Health initiative through the provision of psychosocial screening services for students and their parents, helping identify their psychosocial needs and concerns.
Carrying the theme, “YAKAP at Kalinga Caravan and Audit of DepEd’s Nationwide Mental Hotline and Learner Support System,” the event highlighted the importance of providing accessible, timely, and responsive mental health services for learners through the collaborative efforts of psychosocial workers, mental health practitioners, and partner agencies.
As part of the activity, a total of 69 learners and their parents received psychosocial support and assistance. The initiative demonstrated the value of inter-agency collaboration in promoting the well-being of students and strengthening support systems within schools and communities. Through continued partnerships and advocacy, stakeholders reaffirmed their commitment to fostering safe, inclusive, and nurturing environments where every learner feels heard, supported, empowered, and cared for.
