USTP-CDO ROTC Unit highlights Armor Capabilities in RAATI 2026
The personnel of the 4th Cavalry (Karangalan) Company (Separate), under the leadership of Cpt. Ma. Lily Teresa A. Salazar, actively participated in the Regional Annual Administrative and Tactical Inspection (RAATI) CY 2026 of the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP) ROTC Unit, held at the 4ID Grandstand, Camp Evangelista on May 23, 2026.
The activity was graced by Col. Rey P. Pasco, Assistant Division Commander for Retired and Reservist Affairs, who served as Guest of Honor and Speaker and Chairperson of the RAATI Team. In his inspiring message, Col. Pasco underscored the values of leadership, discipline, and patriotism, reminding the cadets and personnel to lead with honor in service to the nation.
A major highlight of the RAATI was the combined-arms operation during the conduct of a raid, where diverse Army capabilities were showcased, including Armor, Artillery, Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD), and K9 units, among others. This demonstration reflected the Army’s operational readiness and its commitment to excellence in tactical proficiency.
In support of this, the 4Cav Coy (S) provided two Wheeled Armored Vehicles (WAV), whose presence was significantly important for the ROTC students, faculty, and staff, and parents of the ROTC students to appreciate that the Army possesses a wide range of operational capabilities beyond the traditional infantry.
Following the successful inspection, the participating personnel proceeded to USTP – Cagayan de Oro City to attend the Information Briefing for the School-Based Ready Reserve Unit (SRRU), the Commander’s Briefing, and the Joint Closing Ceremony of the Basic and Advance ROTC Cadets.
The event highlighted the strong partnership between the military, academe, and the ROTC community in shaping disciplined, responsible, and service-oriented future reservists. It reaffirmed the Philippine Army’s mandate to support Reserve Force Development and strengthen community engagement, ensuring that the next generation of leaders is prepared to uphold the ideals of service, honor, and patriotism.
