๐ฑ๐ฐ๐ป๐๐ฑ๐ฐ๐ป ๐ด๐ป๐ด๐ผ๐ด๐ฝ๐๐ฐ๐๐ ๐๐ฒ๐ท๐พ๐พ๐ป || Earlier today, the DepEdโDivision of Cagayan de Oro and the local government held the School Brigada 2026 opening event at Balubal Elementary School. Hosted with the warm hospitality of Punong Barangay Pablo M. Bactong with the full support of Mayor Rolando 'Klarex' Uy, this activity seeks to establish a safe, tidy, and welcoming atmosphere for students as they prepare for the start of the new academic year.
The event featured the "YAKAP at Kalinga Program," which ran alongside the Brigada Eskwela Caravan to provide holistic support for students, teachers, and parents. Through this partnership, which included entities such as DOH, PhilHealthโLHIO and LGUCDO.
The SurUy-SurUy sa Baryo (SSB ) medical and non-medical team, which is a collaboration of JRBGH, CHO, CDRRMD, CSWD and specifically the department led by Ms. Roxanne Mae A. Ravidas which is the City Health Insurance Department โprovided attendees with free medical and psychosocial consultations, dental check-ups, and medicines.
To ensure school readiness, the program included the turnover of various school suppliesโsuch as notebooks, paper, pencils, and erasersโalongside the distribution of paint and equipment for classroom repairs and beautification.
The event also featured a ceremonial signing of a Pledge of Commitment by Councilor Gilda 'Gigi' Go, including DepEd Regional Director Ruth Fuentes, PhilHealth LHIO - Head, Mr. Marlon Niรฑo Arabacca, City Administrator Atty. Roy Hilario Raagas, Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Roy Angelo E. Gazo.
