A Family of Faith: The “MADASIGON” Battalion’s Simbang Gabi Journey

For nine nights leading up to Christmas, the 4th Installation Management “MADASIGON” Battalion gathered with the faithful at St. Ignatius de Loyola Chapel, Camp Evangelista, Patag, Cagayan de Oro City. Under the guidance of LTC MICHAEL O. SUMAPIG AGS (GSC) PA, Commanding Officer, and with FATHER LTC JECILETO C. VADILLES CHS (PA) as officiating priest, the unit embraced the cherished Filipino tradition of Simbang Gabi.

From the very first dawn mass, when the battalion served as sponsor, to the final evening when LTC SUMAPIG and his family lit the last candle, each moment was filled with gratitude, devotion, and togetherness. The flicker of that final candle symbolized not only the completion of the novena but also the light of hope and joy that Christmas brings.

For the “MADASIGON” Battalion, Simbang Gabi was more than a religious observance—it was a time to strengthen bonds as a unit, as a family, and as a community of faith. The unit’s participation reflected the spirit of service rooted not only in duty but also in love, tradition, and shared belief.

The Christmas season has always been a time of joy, generosity, and togetherness, and nowhere was this spirit more alive than at the Children’s Party hosted by the 4th Installation Management “MADASIGON” Battalion on December 12, 2025 at 4IMB RCP, IMCOM, PA, Camp Evangelista, Patag, Cagayan de Oro City. Children, often described as blessings whose innocence brightens even the busiest days, became the heart of the celebration as the unit opened its doors to an morning filled with laughter and wonder.

From the moment the festivities began, the air buzzed with excitement. The venue transformed into a lively playground where kids eagerly joined parlor games and friendly competitions that brought out their brightest smiles. Their cheers echoed through the hall as they played, won prizes, and shared moments of pure joy with friends and family.

One of the highlights was the Magic Show, where wide eyed children watched in amazement as tricks and illusions unfolded before them. Their reactions — gasps, giggles, and applause — created a magical atmosphere that even the adults couldn’t resist.
The celebration grew even more festive when Santa Claus made his grand entrance. Children rushed forward with excitement, waving and calling out to him as he greeted them with warmth and holiday cheer. The joy on their faces captured the true essence of Christmas.

Adding to the fun was a lively Jollibee dance presentation that had everyone clapping along. The beloved mascot’s energetic moves brought the crowd to life, turning the event into a dance filled celebration.

To cap off the day, the unit distributed loot bags filled with treats and surprises. Each child received their own bundle of goodies, a simple gesture that brought immense happiness and made the celebration even more memorable.

More than just a party, the event reflected the battalion’s commitment to community, compassion, and the joy of giving. It was a day where children felt valued, families felt connected, and the spirit of Christmas shone brightly in every smile.
