PESO Cagdianao Joins Provincial Orientation on AIRTIP Implementation

On September 29, 2025, PESO Managers across Dinagat Islands gathered in San Jose for an orientation-seminar on the role of PESOs in the implementation of RA 10364 and RA 118 (Anti-Illegal Recruitment and Trafficking in Persons – AIRTIP), initiated by Gov. Nilo P. Demerey Jr. in partnership with the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) Caraga Region. The orientation emphasized PESOs’ vital function as OFW Help Desks, ensuring stronger protection against illegal recruitment and trafficking, especially for women and children.

The active participation of MPESO Cagdianao highlighted the administration’s firm intention to strengthen migrant protection and employment facilitation for its beloved Cagdianao. Under the leadership of Mayor Adolfo “Din Din” Longos, the municipality reaffirms its commitment to provide responsive services to OFWs and their families, ensuring that no Kagjawnon is left behind.

DOLE Livelihood Turnover: Empowering Skilled Entrepreneurs in Cagdianao

Today March 13, 2025, another milestone in our community's livelihood development was achieved as the Department of Labor and Employment – Province of Dinagat Islands (DOLE PDI), through the Public Employment Service Office (PESO), successfully turned over livelihood assistance to deserving beneficiaries.

This livelihood grant was endorsed by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), recognizing the recipients as skilled individuals who have undergone extensive training in various cooking strategies through the free training programs of DTI and TESDA. Now equipped with the knowledge and skills in food production, these entrepreneurs are ready to start and sustain their own businesses.

The livelihood package includes essential baking and cooking equipment, such as electric stand mixers, ovens, deep fryers, and other necessary tools and ingredients to help them establish their food enterprises. With the support of DOLE's budget allocation, these aspiring entrepreneurs are given the opportunity to turn their skills into sustainable sources of income.

We extend our gratitude to DOLE PDI, DTI, TESDA, and the local government of CAGDIANAO for their continuous commitment to empowering our people through livelihood and skills development. May this initiative open more doors for economic growth and self-sufficiency in our community!

𝗙𝗜𝗥𝗦𝗧 𝗔𝗜𝗗 𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗜𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗠𝗜𝗖𝗥𝗢 𝗘𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗕𝗟𝗜𝗦𝗛𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧 𝗢𝗪𝗡𝗘𝗥𝗦

In celebration of National Women's Month and Fire Protection Month, the Department of Labor and Employment - Province of Dinagat Islands (DOLE-PDI), through the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) of Cagdianao, successfully conducted a First Aid Training for Micro Establishment Owners on March 13, 2025, at the Municipal Gymnasium, Brgy. Poblacion, Cagdianao.

This initiative was made possible in partnership with the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO), through Ma’am Juliet Longos, Women’s Focal, in collaboration with the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) - Cagdianao.

The training aimed to equip small business owners with essential first aid skills, ensuring workplace safety and empowering individuals, especially women entrepreneurs, to respond effectively in emergencies.

We extend our gratitude to our BFP-Cagdianao trainers, our municipal government led by Hon. Marc Adelson D. Longos, Municipal Mayor, and the DOLE-PDI under the leadership of Engr. John Ritche A. Tangpos, for their support in making this event successful.

A special thanks to Mr. Bonifacio Jazon, who graced the event as the representative of the Mayor’s Office, and Ms. Merlie A. Bantayanon, Labor Inspector III of DOLE, who was the prime mover of this initiative.
