Last April 8β17, Silliman University, through the Silliman University Culture and Arts Council in partnership with the Silliman University College of Performing and Visual Arts, hosted Asenso Musika: Symphonic Band Summer Workshop.
The program brought together 44 student musicians from Calamba National Comprehensive High School, equipping them with advanced training in symphonic performance, jazz techniques and improvisation, ensemble cohesion, musical interpretation, and leadership development.
Anchored on the theme βUnity in Sound: Cultivating Musicianship in the Symphonic and Jazz Band Ensemble,β the workshop fostered both individual excellence and collective artistry through structured rehearsals, masterclasses, and collaborative learning under the guidance of professional mentors.
The training culminated in a recital at the Claire Isabel McGill Luce Auditorium on April 17, 2026, where the students showcased their pieces, with select participants performing alongside the Silliman University Concert Band.
