Among the meeting highlights are the discussions on the proposed review of pre-departure expenses for official foreign travel, the imposition of convenience fees on digital banking transactions, updates on the Local Government Code Amendment Program, and initiatives aimed at advancing learners' protection and strengthening school safety measures.

Kapag maganda ang pamamahala at maayos ang pagtutulungan ng iba't ibang sektor, mas nagiging epektibo ang mga programa para sa edukasyon at paglinang ng kakayahan. Ang resulta? Recognizing that disaster recovery goes beyond rebuilding infrastructure, the Department of Economy, Planning, and Development (DEPDev) Regional Office IV-A spearheaded a Psychosocial Support and Mental Health Session on July 28, 2026, via Zoom as part of the observance of National Disaster Resilience Month (NDRM). The activity supported this yearโ€™s theme, โ€œNaghahanda at Kumikilos Tungo sa Panatag na Bagong Pilipinas,โ€ by highlighting the vital role of mental health in disaster preparedness, rehabilitation, and recovery. DEPDev Region IV-A sponsored this session as the Chairperson of the Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (RDRRMC) Committee on Disaster Rehabilitation and Recovery.

The Sectoral Committee on Infrastructure Development (SCID) of the CALABARZON Regional Development Council (RDC) convenes its Third Quarter Meeting via Zoom videoconference to discuss key infrastructure development and initiatives across the region.

Among the major agenda items are the Full-Year 2025 Regional Development Report for the Infrastructure Sector; the Regional Priority Programs/Projects and Feasibility Study Preparation for the 4th Regional-National Investment Programming Dialogue; the Community of Practice on Evaluation; the SEERMO Transport Analytics Platform; and the proposed Priority Infrastructure Projects for the Padre Pio International Shrine.

The Committee will also discuss key updates from its subcommittees and banner projects, including the Regional Interconnectivity Plan and the Removal of Obstructions Along Road Right-of-Way, as part of its continuing efforts to enhance regional connectivity, improve mobility and accessibility, and promote sustainable infrastructure development in CALABARZON.

Residents of Brgy. Dayap Itaas, Laurel, Batangas gained new livelihood opportunities through a four-day DOST-Batangas and DOST-FPRDI training on tanlak bamboo handicraft making. Participants learned bamboo processing, product design, and manufacturing techniques, producing value-added items such as trays and mini bookshelves. The training showcased the potential of locally abundant tanlak bamboo as a sustainable livelihood resource and a possible flagship product for the municipality.

Sa pamamagitan nito, mapapalakas ang pagbibigay ng impormasyon tungkol sa masustansyang pagkain, mapauunlad ang paggamit ng mga teknolohiyang nagpapataas ng sustansya at nagpapahaba ng shelf life ng pagkain, mapapahusay ang pamamahala sa nutrisyon lalo na sa mga lokal na pamahalaan, matutugunan ang mga suliranin tulad ng wasting, stunting, at obesity, at masisiguro ang napapanahong pagbibigay ng mga tulong at suporta para sa kabataan.
