The MSSD Unit Office of Calanogas, with the strong support of Municipal Mayor Hon. Abdulhakim A. Benito, successfully conducted today's advocacy activity as part of the nationwide campaign to end violence against women.

The program featured inspiring messages and active participation from our community, highlighting our shared commitment to protect and empower women and children. One of the key moments was the insightful discussion led by Pat. Jalilah P. Maute on Violence Against Women (VAW), which deepened understanding and strengthened awareness among participants.

This meaningful event was held on December 4, 2025, bringing together participants through workshops, presentations, and collective dialogue that emphasized unity, education, and action in ending violence.

We thank our speakers, facilitators, and participants for their dedication. The LGU of Calanogas continues to stand firm in supporting initiatives that safeguard women's rights and build a safer, more inclusive community.

On May 28, 2025, the MSSD Unit Office in Calanogas, Lanao del Sur successfully distributed eyeglasses to five (5) indigent senior citizens after their eye check-up under Sagip Paningin Program. This initiative, led by Municipal Social Welfare Officer Rohane S. Sarip, RSW, aims to improve the vision and overall well-being of elderly individuals in need.

The Sagip Paningin Program is a social welfare initiative by the Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) in BARMM, designed to provide free vision care to indigent senior citizens. The program offers comprehensive eye check-ups and prescription eyeglasses, ensuring that elderly individuals with vision impairments receive the necessary support to improve their quality of life.

This meaningful distribution would not have been possible without the dedication of MSSD staff, local government officials, and healthcare partners, whose unwavering support ensures that Bangsamoro’s elderly receive the essential care they deserve.

From May 28 to June 3, 2025, the MSSD Unit Office in Calanogas, Lanao del Sur successfully distributed 18 Hadiya Care Packages to elderly beneficiaries. The distribution was conducted through a house-to-house approach, ensuring that frail, sickly, and bedridden senior citizens received essential health and hygiene supplies to support their well-being.

The Hadiya Program, a social welfare initiative by the Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) in BARMM, was established to assist indigent elderly individuals by providing care packages containing health monitoring devices, hygiene kits, comfort aids, and medication organizers. Since its inception in 2022, the program has expanded, ensuring more senior citizens receive much-needed support across the region.

This meaningful distribution was made possible through the collective efforts of MSSD staff, para-social workers, and the dedicated support of the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Calanogas, Lanao del Sur. Their unwavering commitment to uplifting the lives of Bangsamoro’s elderly is truly commendable.

On October 4, 2024, the MSSD Calanogas Unit Office conducted payout for a total of 104 beneficiaries under UNLAD Pamilyang Bangsamoro Program. Each beneficiary received thier third quarter rice subsidy amounting Php 3,600.00, with a grand total of Php 374,400.00 for all beneficiaries. Held at Social Hall, LGU of Calanogas, Lanao del Sur.

The beneficiaries sincerly extend their gratitude for the supports received from Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD-BARMM). Your support has greatly improved the lives of our beneficiaries, helping to ensure food security and promote sustainable livelihoods.

On October 3, 2024, the MSSD Calanogas Unit Office received the Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) hygiene kits from the MSSD-LSB Provincial warehouse and directly distributed them to the three CDCs of the municipality namely Pagawalupa CDC, Pantaon CDC, and Pikan CDC. These kits were intended for the 60 learners enrolled in these centers, with each center receiving 20 hygiene kits.

The hygiene kits included 1pc storage box with a center handle 10liters, 2sets of 3bars baby bath soap 150g, 2pcs toothbrush with closed cap, soft kids, 2 tubes kiddie toothpaste 50ml, 1 pc Nail cutter with nail file medium, 1 bottle Ethyl alcohol with moisturizer 70% solution, 1 pair slippers, 1 box facemask, 1pc comb, 1pack wet wipes, 3pcs face towel, and 1pc baby powder.

Our CDC workers and learners extend their heartfelt thanks for the hygiene kits provided. The Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) generous support plays a vital role in promoting the health and well-being of our CDC learners.

Today, August 21, 2024, a mass payout was held, benefiting a total of 211 individuals in Calanogas, Lanao del Sur:

* 104 beneficiaries received PHP 3,600 each for the second quarter under the Unlad Rice Subsidy, aimed at providing essential food support to families in need.
* 25 solo parent beneficiaries received PHP 6,000 each for the first semester under the DAKILA Program, which supports single parents in managing their household expenses and improving their livelihoods.
* 16 beneficiaries received Educational Assistance for College students worth PHP 10,000 each, helping them cover tuition fees, books, and other educational expenses.
* 36 beneficiaries received Educational Assistance for High School students worth PHP 3,000 each, ensuring they have the necessary resources to continue their secondary education.
* 30 beneficiaries received Educational Assistance for Elementary students worth PHP 2,000 each under the ABaKa Program, supporting young students in their primary education journey.

These assistance programs are designed to improve the quality of life for vulnerable people in Bangsamoro by addressing their educational and basic needs.

An orientation on ECCD Council standards and guidelines was conducted for 15 Child Development Workers (CDWs) and 2 Supervised Neighborhood Play (SNPs) workers in Calanogas, Lanao del Sur. The session was led by our proactive and productive Municipal Social Welfare Officer (MSWO) and the concurrent ECCD MSSD-LSB Focal Ma’am Rohane S. Sarip, RSW.

The purpose of this meeting was to encourage and motivate our CDWs and SNPs to ensure that their daycare centers meet the ECCD standards and to further enhance the learning experience of the children.

Once again, the BRIGADA ESKWELA 2024 has started with the theme “Bayanihan para sa Matatag na Paaralan.” This activity organized by MBTHE, aims to make sure schools are clean, organized, and ready for the new academic year.

The MSSD Unit Office Calanogas team has joined with Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries, parents and their children are encouraged to participate in the said activity. It’s also a way of monitoring their children if they are enrolled for the upcoming school days and to strengthen collaboration with MBTHE and other agency stakeholders. This collaborative effort promotes resiliency in basic education, emphasizing importance of community involvement in maintaining safe and conducive learning environment.
