The newly-hired and promoted personnel of the Department of Economy, Planning, and Development (DEPDev) Regional Office MIMAROPA took their Oaths of Office before DEPDev MIMAROPA Regional Director Agustin C. Mendoza on September 16, 2026.

The oath-taking ceremony formally marked the assumption of their respective positions and reaffirmed their commitment to uphold the principles of public service, and faithfully discharge the duties and responsibilities entrusted to them.

The promoted personnel who took their Oaths of Office were Engr. Francis Bayani M. De Guzman, Supervising Economic Development Specialist of the Project Monitoring and Evaluation Division; Mr. Wilson D. Garcia, Senior Economic Development Specialist of the Development Research Division; and Ms. Ma. Krizle Nyssa S. Taรฑedo, Economic Development Specialist II of the Project Monitoring and Evaluation Division.

Meanwhile, Ms. Jedidia Shanelyn M. Aranas took her Oath of Office as the newly-appointed Economic Development Specialist I of the Project Monitoring and Evaluation Division.

Members of the DEPDev MIMAROPA Human Resource Merit Promotion and Selection Board (HRMPSB) were also present to witness the ceremony.

The 2026 Search for Outstanding Volunteers (SOV) Regional Search Committee (RSC) convened for an orientation on the guidelines and key activities for the conduct of the 2026 SOV in MIMAROPA Region on September 15, 2026 via Zoom. The activity provided RSC members with a common understanding of the search guidelines, processes, and the way forward.

A highlight of the activity was the open forum, where members expressed their support and commitment to effectively disseminate information about the search and encourage wider participation, helping recognize and celebrate outstanding volunteers who contribute to national and regional development. The orientation also discussed the calendar of activities and way forward for the 2026 SOV.

The 2026 SOV continues the advocacy and promotion of volunteerism as a tool for national and regional development, pursuant to Republic Act No. 9418 or the Volunteer Act of 2007.

๐‹๐Ž๐Ž๐Š: The Department of Economy, Planning, and Development (DEPDev), which serves as the Secretariat of the National Innovation Council (NIC), recognized the winners of the 2026 Presidential Filipinnovation Awards National Competition for their innovative solutions aligned with the 10 priority areas of the National Innovation Agenda and Strategy Document (NIASD) 2023โ€“2032.

The winners are:

๐Ÿ†Compact Easy to Operate & Economical Biodiesel Reactor for Benteng Diesel

President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr., who is also the chairperson of the NIC, personally conferred the awards through a medallion and a plaque bearing the President's seal, citation, and signature.

The awardees also received PHP 3.5 Million worth of cash grants and post-competition support to help accelerate the development and commercialization of their innovations.
