CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro | July 24, 2026 โ In a significant step toward accelerating the provinceโs transition to clean and sustainable energy, the Provincial Cooperatives Development Office (PCDO), in partnership with REnew Mindoro, successfully convened the Roundtable Discussion on Renewable Energy Financing and Investment Forum on July 24, 2026, at Vencioโs Garden Hotel and Restaurant.
The forum brought together key financing institutions and development partners to strengthen collaboration and expand financing opportunities for solar power system installations benefiting cooperatives, micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), local businesses, institutions, and other productive sectors across Oriental Mindoro.
Participating in the forum were representatives from the Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP), Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP), Security Bank, Metrobank, Philippine Business Bank (PBB), Banco de Mindoro, SIDC Savings Bank, and the Foundation for a Sustainable Society, Inc. (FSSI). Their participation demonstrated a shared commitment to advancing renewable energy investments by making financing more accessible and responsive to the growing demand for clean energy solutions in the province.
During the forum, each participating financing institution presented its renewable energy financing and credit facilities, while stakeholders exchanged insights on innovative financing mechanisms, investment opportunities, and collaborative approaches to support the wider adoption of solar energy technologies. The discussions also identified strategies to strengthen coordination among government, financial institutions, and development organizations in promoting renewable energy investments.
Recognizing that affordable, reliable, and sustainable energy is essential to economic growth, participants underscored the importance of expanding access to renewable energy financing to help reduce electricity costs, improve operational efficiency, enhance enterprise competitiveness, and build resilience among cooperatives, MSMEs, and other local enterprises. The initiative likewise reinforces the provinceโs commitment to environmental sustainability, climate resilience, and inclusive economic development.
The activity reflects the continuing commitment of the Provincial Government of Oriental Mindoro, through the Provincial Cooperatives Development Office and in partnership with REnew Mindoro, to cultivate strategic partnerships with the banking and finance sector in support of the provinceโs renewable energy agenda. By fostering stronger collaboration among key stakeholders, the forum laid the foundation for broader investments in clean energy that will benefit communities, enterprises, and future generations of Oriental Mindoreรฑos.
