And that’s a wrap! 💙✨

The Linggo ng Kabataan 2026 – Calbayog City Celebration has officially come to a successful close!

Two days of energy, creativity, camaraderie, and meaningful youth participation brought young Calbayognons together under one celebration—proving that despite our different contexts, we share common aspirations.

From competitions and cultural performances to games, learning sessions, and moments of unity, became a celebration of what the youth of Calbayog can achieve together.

Our heartfelt appreciation goes to all participants, SK councils, youth organizations, partners, working committees, and everyone who contributed to the success of this celebration.

Special thanks to our dedicated volunteers from the Calbayog Alliance of Peer Educators (CAPE), One Values Program, and Rayhak Kabataan of Baay, whose time, energy, and service helped make the celebration possible.

The celebration may have ended, but the spirit of youth participation continues.

Spearheaded by SK Federation President Honorable Rolando Grotes Jr., the City of Calbayog kicks off the celebration of International Youth Day with the theme "Different Contexts, Common Aspirations." We thank the San Policarpo Marching Band for setting the beat of the kick-off, with special thanks to the Calbayog Public Order and Safety Office. We also thank our young leaders from the Sangguniang Kabataan and youth organizations who joined the parade.

We thank and congratulate Sirak Kabataan Calbayog , Rayhak Kabataan, Migara Youth Organization MYO, and the Local Government Unit of Sta. Margarita—through the Local Youth Development Office, headed by Ms. Wyndelyn J. Progella—for representing the North Youth Zone during SIRAK Day in Catbalogan City.

We also thank the Office of the Representative of the 1st District of Samar, Honorable Jimboy Tan, and Mayor Raymund "Monmon" C. Uy for their support. And congratulations to all the winners and to the Samar Provincial Youth Development Office for a successful event.

Sa Linggo ng Kabataan 2026, tampok ang mga makabuluhang talakayan na magbibigay-kaalaman at inspirasyon sa ating mga kabataang lider—mula sa pagbuo ng pangmatagalang legacy, wastong financial accountability at turnover, hanggang sa mga oportunidad beyond SK sa public service at community development.

Sama-sama tayong makinig, matuto, at maghanda para sa susunod na yugto ng ating paglilingkod. 💙

It was my pleasure to welcome SK Federation President Rolando Grotes to my office.

He presented two project proposals for my support:

🩵 Project YOUTH HUB: A One-Stop Center for Youth Development and Empowerment, to provide our youth a dedicated space for programs, training, and engagement.

🩵 Project SAFE SCHOOLS: Provision of Handheld Metal Detectors for Public High Schools, to help ensure the safety and security of our students, teachers, and school personnel.

I commend our people for taking proactive steps in pushing youth-centered initiatives. I look forward to working with you in turning these proposals into real programs that benefit the youth of Calbayog City.
