CONDUCT OF SIMULTANEOUS TREE PLANTING ACTIVITY FOR THE CELEBRATION OF THE 33RD BJMP Anniversary

IN PHOTOS: Under the supervision of Jail Warden JINSP JANUARIO M TRAGURA, Calbayog City District Jail with thirteen (13) CCDJ personnel went to Cagsalaosao Elementary School to plant ten (10) seedlings (two (2) mango tree seedlings and eight (8) pili tree seedlings). The activity was conducted on September 17, 2024 as participation in the simultaneous tree planting activity for the 33RD BJMP Anniversary.

Conduct of DILG Kalinisan Program at Brgy. Tomaligues, Calbayog City, Samar on June 15, 2024

As we embody the brand of leadership of a โ€œBagong Pilipinasโ€ which calls for transformations in all sectors of society and government, the DILG launched its KALINISAN (Kalinga at Inisyatiba para sa Malinis na Bayan) Program on January 6, 2024. The Kalinisan Program is a convergence initiative to consolidate all efforts of the government to maintain and provide a healthy and safe environment for all.

The Calbayog City District Jail personnel together with the residents of Brgy. Tomaligues conducted clean-up drive on June 15 2024. CCDJ personnel through the supervision of the Assistant Jail Warden, SJO3 Abia proceeded to the agreed venue with the other participants and joined with the cleaning and tidying of the site by removing dirt, trash and unwanted plastics.

CONDUCT OF DILG KALINISAN PROGRAM AT BRGY. TRINIDAD, CALBAYOG CITY, SAMAR
As we embody the brand of leadership of a โ€œBagong Pilipinasโ€ which calls for transformations in all sectors of society and government, the DILG launched its KALINISAN (Kalinga at Inisyatiba para sa Malinis na Bayan) Program on January 6, 2024. The Kalinisan Program is a convergence initiative to consolidate all efforts of the government to maintain and provide a healthy and safe environment for all. Through the supervision of the Assistant Jail Warden of Calbayog CDJ, SJO3 Abia; Calbayog CDJ personnel proceeded to the agreed venue in Brgy. Trinidad, Calbayog City, Samar on April 27, 2024. Together with the Brgy. Trinidad officials, cleaning and tidying of the site by removing dirt, trash and unwanted plastics was done. The joined efforts of the participants resulted to the collection of six (6) sacks of garbage.

This is to clarify the issue on the seized drugs from the simultaneous greyhound operation conducted by the Leyte Mobile Force Company and Baybay City Police Station, Leyte Provincial Explosive Ordnance Unit (LPECU); and Office of the City Prosecutor in Leyte Sub-provincial Jail, Brgy Hipusngo, Baybay City and in Baybay City Jail, Zone 2, Baybay City wherein a total estimated weight of 654 grams of illegal drugs with an estimated street value of Php3,864,010.93 pesos was seized. Although it was a simultaneous operation on the said jail facilities, said illegal drugs and illegal drug paraphernalia were seized from the Leyte Sub-provincial Jail ONLY while no illegal drugs, only contrabands, were seized from the Baybay City Jail.

It is essential to emphasize that the aforementioned operation did not take place within the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) manned facility. Specifically, the operation was not conducted at Baybay City District Jail.

Accurate reporting is of utmost importance, and we urge media outlets and the public to rely on verified information to maintain the integrity of news coverage. The correct details regarding the location of the operation are crucial for a comprehensive understanding of the incident.

CCDJ FOR KALINISAN SA BAGONG PILIPINAS PROGRAM AT BRGY GADGARAN

As we embody the brand of leadership of a "Bagong Pilipinas" which calls for transformations in all sectors of society and government, the DILG launched its KALINISAN (Kalinga at Inisyatiba para sa Malinis na Bayan) Program on January 6, 2024. The Kalinisan Program is a convergence initiative to consolidate all efforts of the government to maintain and provide a healthy and safe environment for all.

To show our candid cooperation and support for the said program, personnel from Calbayog City District Jail lead by its ever dynamic Jail Warden, JSINSP JOWIE S VILLAS, Provincial Jail Administrator of Samar, coordinated and conducted a joint clean-up activity at Brgy. Gadgaran, Calbayog City, with its local government unit constituents to raise awareness and encourage participation among community members and fellow stakeholders on environmental responsibility through proper solid waste management.

CCDJ CONDUCTS GREENING PROGRAM AT ANISLAG ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

As a government priority pursuant to the Executive Order No. 193, s. 2015 re: EXPANDING THE COVERAGE OF THE NATIONAL GREENING PROGRAM (NGP), such program aims to: 1) contribute in reducing poverty among upland and lowland poor households, indigenous peoples and in coastal and urban areas; 2) implement sustainable management of natural resources through resource conservation, protection, and productivity enhancement; 3) provide food, goods and services such as timber, fiber, non-timber forest products, aesthetic values, air enhancement values, water regulation values, and mitigate climate change by expanding forest cover that serve as carbon sink; 4) promote public awareness as well as instill social and environmental consciousness on the value of forests and watersheds; 5) enhance the formation of positive values among the youth and other partners through shared responsibilities in sustainable management of tree plantations and forest resources, and 6) consolidate and harmonize all greening efforts of the government, civil society, and the private sector. The Expanded NGP will rehabilitate all the remaining unproductive, denuded, and degraded forestlands estimated at 7.1 million hectares from 2016 to 2028.

To show our earnest support for the said program, thirteen personnel from Calbayog City District Jail under the direction of its ever dynamic Jail Warden, JSINSP JOWIE S VILLAS, Provincial Jail Administrator of Samar, coordinated and conducted a joint tree-planting activity at Anislag Elementary School, Brgy. Anislag, Calbayog City, and was able to plant seedlings of local fruit-bearing trees marked and protected with tree guards.

We give our special thanks to the faculty of Anislag Elementary School headed by Sir Rodrigo Ventures Jr., Principal II, for joining and accommodating us in this public service and much needed environmentalism.
