Welcome to the Manugbanog Festival!
On May 2, 2026, Barangay Patong will proudly take flight with our very own **Kite Flying Competition**, a celebration born from the heart of our farming community. Traditionally, our farmers relied on *pahoy* (scarecrows) to guard the rice fields, but over time, the colorful and dynamic **manugbanog**—kites soaring high above the paddies—became a creative and joyful alternative to keep the birds away.
Dire la po ine pauyag; it’s a tribute to our ingenuity, our livelihood, and the vibrant spirit of Barangay Patong. As kites dance in the sky, they carry with them the hopes of a bountiful harvest and the pride of a community united by tradition and innovation.
Let’s come together, lift our kites, and let the winds of May remind us that farming is not only our work—it’s our heritage, our joy, and our future!
