CALOOCAN PARTNERS WITH TRICYCLE DRIVERS TO PROVIDE LIBRENG SAKAY FOR COMMUTERS TO DIRECTLY RESPOND TO RISING FUEL PRICES
To alleviate the plight of the transportation sector due to the continuous fuel price hikes in local gas stations, the City Government of Caloocan is set to implement a βLibreng Sakayβ program starting on April 6, in partnership with tricycle associations to provide free trips to commuters.
The βLibreng Sakayβ will be available during traffic rush hour, from 7:00am to 9:00am and 5:00pm to 7:00pm, wherein participating Tricycle Operators and Drivers Associations (TODA) will receive Php 695 for two hours of service per day.
City Mayor Dale Gonzalo βAlongβ Malapitan declared the city governmentβs full support to provide assistance to local public transportation providers and ensured that additional programs shall be implemented in anticipation of further surges in fuel prices.
Aside from the Libreng Sakay, the city government is set to implement a separate free transportation program with jeepney organizations.
