Barangay Taladong, under the dedicated leadership of Barangay Captain Hon. Ameldo N. Navia, successfully completed the Monitoring and Evaluation of the Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Plan (BDRRMP) and the Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (BDRRMC) conducted by the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) on July 18, 2026.
The evaluation was spearheaded by MDRRMO Chief Rommel V. Negrete Jr., PhD, JD, D.Hum., as part of a municipality-wide assessment covering all 50 Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Councils (BDRRMCs). This comprehensive initiative aims to evaluate each barangay's implementation of its Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Plan, measure the effectiveness and functionality of its council, and ensure that disaster preparedness and response mechanisms are fully operational and responsive to community needs.
The activity was conducted in partnership with the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) under the leadership of Ms. Edlyn Noble, RSW, who led the assessment of the functionality of the Barangay Council for the Protection of Children (BCPC) and the Barangay Violence Against Women (BVAW) Desk. Their evaluation emphasized the importance of safeguarding the welfare of children, protecting vulnerable sectors, and strengthening gender-responsive programs within the barangay.
Also present during the evaluation were Hon. Ding Baldo, Municipal Vice Mayor of Camalig; the Chairperson of the Committee on People Participation, Cooperatives, Emergency and Crisis Management; Ms. April Joy Sabdao of the MSWDO; and Ms. Rachel Mallari of the DILGโCamalig, whose presence and guidance further reinforced the collaborative efforts of the local government in promoting effective governance and community resilience.
This evaluation is more than a compliance requirementโit is a testament to Barangay Taladong's unwavering commitment to good governance, disaster preparedness, community safety, and public service. Through continuous monitoring, collaboration, and capacity-building, the barangay remains steadfast in its mission to build a safer, stronger, and more resilient community for every Camaligueรฑo.
